Hey that's me @20:06 :) TY for featuring my comment. I'd like to elaborate a bit b/c I didn't do a good job of explaining my frustration with this build and why I posted what I did. My thing is...if u truly wanna maximize cold damage u would run a 4 socketed armor of the whale (usually) and just a high all res pally shield in the off hand 4 sockets with facets again. I actually have this set up on my NL online character that is super expensive when you consider all the facets I used. Using Doom with a high roll, you can easily get over -100 cold res with the set up. When you compare that to the dragon/dream items etc that have the built in aura's...that's the only way for the cold pally to get up there and compete. So giving us runewords that were similarly designed would alleviate the cost of building this paladin. Offline since I don't cheat and legit play the game it's going to take me forever to build it. ' You made a fair point, you don't need ED on VoR if you use exile or gracs...but again if u use exile you are missing out on a potential 20/20 cold dam faceted shield...and dracs u are missing out on ISA and some fire res. If you aim to maximize the pure cold damage like I did on my NL character...you are really going to be hurting for all res. Infact I rock a high all res 2 socket CoA in the build online with 2 5/5 cold facets b/c it gives me close to 50 all res. To me, any pally that doesn't run his own fanaticism is best suited for the act 1 merc with a lvl 15 faith bow. That's what I run now and the character is a beast on P1-P3. Before I ran either conviction or the act 5 DW merc with 2 Plagues for the lower resist on there. While that's better for my tick damage, my own character attacking wasn't as good and since I rely on lifesteal to survive (no lifetap in my set up), I need all the benefits from Fanaticism while running my own Holy Freeze. I was so skeptical if the viper magi armor. (Like I know so much. Pfft) them you said, "It's blue." Instantly, I was thinking yes of course! That is freaking sick! Awesome build and vid. Also, the drums on that song were a vibe.

Viper does have good mods for the build as well. And yea the blue color just looked nice on the build. More offensive would be Duress since it does have CB and cold damage. I did use Treachery for a bit in the beginning of the vid, but the Fade didn't LOOK AS COOL! Fortitude has the chilling armor style points and would fit on theme, but didn't find it that useful overall. Peak would be faceted armor.

Thanks bud! This is the format ive been doing since my tele-stomping summoner druid video came out for build showcases. It takes more time for me to do them like this, but it is more satisfying to me once completed. So, im very grateful you like it!

I absolutely agree with what you said in the end about gear design in D2, it's not balanced like there's a thing or two for evey build, some skills/skill tree get more love, some less, and that's the beauty of Diablo2. And btw, WHAT A STYLISH PALADIN BUILD! I LOVE IT! Thank you for sharing this build, cause i'm back to D2R because of it!

Hey thanks man, glad you're having fun with the game again. Yea, i like that d2 has this imbalance to it. Its funny because we want more "balance patches" in order to make more viable builds, but if everything has a counterpart and everything is just as good as the next thing then you lose the hierarchy and value of certain items. So i think its fine to have OP stuff in the game. That being said, i don't like useless items though that have incredible rarity, such as TC class 87 items. You could play for years and never find some of these items and they suck so bad. It makes no sense. Tyraeal's Might is one of the biggest offenders of this problem. It's the rarest item in the game and yet it is outclassed by about 15 other armors.

Cool build, love the blue items, only the boots could be a little more blue like trires boots with mana or chance to cast some cold skill :) And the music was really awesome! Keep it up

I agree with you about having a teleport amulet while carrying a main amulet to swap. My favorite is a +1 Necro skiller with teleport lvl 2 charges and a few other things.

I made myself a holy freeze paladin as well last year. Basically everything thing same but I went with azurewrath for the aura and ability to hit max frames on zeal. And for amor I used duress for the cold dance open wounds and crushing blow. Was surprised how well this works.

Nice music, nice build. The music made me half-expect an Allan Holdsworth style guitar line or solo to drop in. His music is more jazz but I feel like if he were alive today, yall could have a really dope session.

@@unicyclepeon holdsworth is on another level. Most of my instrumentals actually are written with vocals in mind, so that's probably why you might be thinking a mainline melody of sorts could be there. I just don't record the vocal because it wouldn't fit the vibe for the video and because it would take me several more days to finish the song. Vocals are by far the most demanding thing to record and most difficult to get down well. But youve made me think about maybe incorporating a little bit of that solo touch into the next one. Thanks

@@StormHornet56 yoo, that first enigma is quite the experience. I remember making my first one for d2r. I had to tell my wife about it. Haha. So many builds become really fun with that armor. Nothing quite like it in any other game. This is why im against nerfing it.

@@off-meta-michael true! It's a reach item, and a big part of Diablo 2 is the reach items for me as well. Yes, some of the gear you can build is insanely powerful, and strong enough to trivialize content. But that's why it's fun for me! It takes a lot of work to be able to earn that gear. Lots of delayed gratification should mean lots of payout at the end, and MAN does Enigma give me that delayed gratification. This has been my favorite ladder so far. Seeing that Jah rune drop nearly gave me a heart attack 😂

Very nice videos again !! I myself am a Off-Meta Dandy :) It would be great, to see a budged Version of all those off meta builds. I do like the change from Spirit to exile, thats the kind of upgrade, we are gaming for right? But also i would love to see your builds without that many lategame/highrune items. Just to answer the Questions: Could the build stand against Hell without Inifinty, Sunder and so on? Is it able to kill CS / Baal / Cows ? Can some guy farm wealth with the Frozen Templar to get to Infinity and exile, you know? I think most of the Offmeta Build can manage, maybe some Imunites cant be broken, but who cares. Is it Strong enouth to carry one through the game

@@Atze.Tatze69 yea you can use voice of reason, a paladin circlet with some skills, and a spirit shield. Its just gonna be slower and youll only be able to go to areas where there are no immunes for your main element. You can use a lower resist wand on swap which you can buy from a vendor. Ive done full ladder live streams where i make the Monk druid or the physical claws assassin or the bow barbarian from scratch. I have a playlist of ladder season 5, 6, and 7. Ive also done low level toxic multi shot amazon videos from level 1-21. But a lot of off meta builds only work with the gear. Thats kind of what makes them fun. Some literally cannot be done without certain gear like the Wolfhowl, Beast, demon machine, etc. At some point you're gonna have to play the game for a long time in order to make all this stuff work. Thats also whats fun about the item chase. If you go and hero edit everything yourself you'll be bored in a few days and if you try to make a budget off meta build you're gonna be getting destroyed to the point where you're not gonna have fun and probably have to farm nightmare for a while. The easiest off meta builds to start as are probably anything with a bow, because at least you can shoot from a distance and utilize other skills that each class has to crowd control enemies or augment the damage somehow.
