The entirety was still Norway (or whatever it was called back then lol), but it didn't have a single ruler, the "states" weren't united. we were the Not-Yet United "States" of Norway xD

The Northhuldra people is inspired by the indigenous group in the north of Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia called the Sami people. They have over 300 words for snow in their own language, herds reindeers and used to live in the Sami tents similar to the ones you see in the clip. They also used to (still do) have shamans (noaidis) and magic. The producers of Frozen went to the Sametinget (Sami government) in Norway to gain knowledge about the people. Pretty cool :) Also, Nothhuldra is the two words North and Huldra put together. Huldra is a mythical creature in Norway that takes the form of a beautiful woman, and lures men into the forest with them. Love from Norway

Saying any language has over n words for x is usually a bit inaccurate. Different languages form words in different ways, and what constitutes a word depends less on the language than on the person analyzing said language. Isolating languages, for example, tend to keep the bits of meaning separated in their own words, while agglutinative languages tend to have more complex words that are made of many small bits of meaning. Polysynthetic languages take this to the extreme, with words that easily work as full sentences. Having 300 words for snow isn’t that impressive when your words are 20 syllables long.

Well, now that you mention it, she never 'literally' said or did anything that confirmed her own opinion except for their father. It's possible that they might reveal her own personal opinion and side of the story that she probably didn't want her daughters{Especially Elsa} to be treated the way they were but was shut down by her husband, who thought otherwise and believed it was for the best. If she really was the red-haired girl, then she should've known that isolating Elsa was a bad idea, but the King was nonmagical, which means he didn't understand the how that would affect their kids in the long run. And if that really was the case, he was the King, the authority figure higher than the Queen and he had the last word

I thought magic came from the kings side, when things went wrong he was the one who knew about magic (from the book) and headed to the trolls. I liked the idea his sister was rapunzels mum who knew about a magic flower when she was ill

See i thought that too. That the magic must come from KingDaddy's side. But not necessarily. All we know is that he was the one to know of and take them to the trolls. So one would think if it came from Mama's side she'd be the one to know. BUT. If J is right and the Queen came from the north , while she would know magic exists, she would not necessarily know a place IN ARANDELLE to go to for help. She's not from there! Why would she know of an old legend about magical trolls in Arandelle when she isn't from there. And if those kids are the king AND queen then clearly they both know of the existence of magic anyway but he'd be the one to know where to go because its his homeland.

Theory: Dad actually had wind powers like the girl. I think the mum is from an area that can do water magic (hence the water horse) those combinations could explain elsa’s magic. That’s why they were surprised that she could use magic (especially the ice magic as they can use wind magic) Btw this is very loose so yeah don’t take any of my theories
