Hey Drone Mesh. I've just watched Joshua Bardwell's latest livestream DVR, he mentions that the reason FRsky has poor latency is because of openTX in some way. Wonder if you can add to your tests utilising one of the multiprotocol transmitters to compare (or not using openTX) Also that he hasn't seen anyone do a latency comparison at range VS near by - this was on the back of a comment that FLYsky has much more latency at a distance in comparison to FRSky. Hope that sparked an interest for you mate. Cheers

Awesome video man! Problem I am having is when I set my mid point in betaflight to 1500 on the roll it seems to never or rarely center. Example it will return to 1497 or 1502 and once and a while 1500 after moving the gimbals around? What could be the culprit? Current transmitter is the Devo 7E modded.

Might be a good idea to do a antenna mod as well. It has two antennas inside the evolution so i have one connected to an external directional and it really helped my range.

Hey DroneMesh, they got X-Lite on GearBest :) Dont know if its legit or not :) also your long range thinking is correct :) the basic component of LR quad is GPS and any option for your quad to get back for atleast 5s (most of the time I lost connection was just one spot I flown into) :) take it this way, you dont need flight time nor good receiver on a quad that youre going to loose on a first flight due to its inability to fly back :) also math :D if your quad travels at 60km/h in one minute youre going to do 1km :) 1km is far enough to have fun and most of very fast acro quads do like 3-4 mins of flight.....:D

I never understood drone pilots fetish for OpenTX. What need is there for all the customization when drone programming is so incredibly simple?` Try programming for a full house glider, with camber adjustments, butterfly/crow brakes etc. Trying so hard to find a qualifying review for someone flying fixed wing, but for some reason the drone crowd is more hooked on the FrSky stuff.

As nice as this is it is way overkill for quadcopter flying, too many dials & switches. Perfect for fixed wing flying though if you have the cash! That FrSky Taranis X-LITE looks very nice, it is the only thing that will tempt me away from my turnigy evolution. Only 2 toggle switches as far as I can make out, but it will run OpenTx and if it has voice feedback and hall gimbal compatibility then I'm sold.

Devils Advocate ;) A $420, 1 kilogram, anti-ergonomic, thick, brick, that you can't charge via USB or remove the 18650's via a batt door. No touch screen. Antennae mount still too small for the Penetrator and others? *Flysky, WAKE UP!* With the i10, the i6s, and Evolution you HAVE been a step ahead in *modernization* for ~2yrs now, but *2 steps behind* in marketing and RX development. You HAVE had best-in-industry latency and modern innovation in all aspects of design (RX's excluded) all this time, *but nobody knows it!* Now you're ready to just roll over and die it seems.... WHAT THE FUK IS WRONG WITH YOU?! Get in the game! Hand out balls to all your pitchers (with new and exciting RX's)! Tnx for the vid Sam. L8r :)

FrSky is modernizing soon with the Taranis X-LITE though, so hopefully they nail it! I hope they are building up stock as we wait and a v2 isn't ..necessary! lol Tnx for the nugget! :)

Horus is the transmitter for fat cats :) To be honest I won't pay 400+ EUR for transmitter only if it is possible to get +/- same range and all needed switches in Taranis QX7 which only need the gimbals upgraded to M7 Hall ones to become really cool. Making mine expenses for transmitter 3.5x less. Become I fly only racing/freestyle quads, I see no need for three POTS in transmitter too. By the way moving to FrSky transmitters seems inevitable sooner or later for folks who are flying racing/freestyle quads. For me it was because of SmartPort telemetry and voice alerts at first. Then I learned about iRange IRX4 4-in-1 multimodule (whoop time) :) Now I have Hall sensor gimbals in Taranis too.

You need to get your facts straight before you do these reviews. This Transmitter has 2 internal antennas and one external. I have performed range tests and its at least as good as the X9D+ or better. Not sure how you measured latency but it fast 18ms in 16 channel mode and 9ms in 8 channel mode.
