Tonight I made fried rice with GF soya sauce, green onions, diced carrots, peas, parsley, diced turkey sausages GF and rice cooked from scratch. I have divided the remainder for two lunches. The rest of the leftover rice Is simmering with sultana raisins and orange zest and rice milk. I’ll add maple syrup once the rice mixture is finished simmering. I’ll divide it into 1/2 cup containers. That way the rice mixture didn’t catch the bottom of the pan and burn. That will be for 4 breakfasts. Tomorrow I’m making home made spaghetti sauce with chopped onion, 1/2 pound of ground beef, fresh garlic, fresh tomatoes, a can of diced, low salt tomatoes , oregano, basil, and DF Parmesan cheese. That sauce will be served over GF pasta, then make a small homemade pizza on GF crust with mushrooms and peppers, with enough sauce left over for a GF, DF small lasagna. Baked beans will go into the slow cooker over night. I eat those on GF toast with turkey sausages and over baked potatoes with green beans. I’ll share some with two friends who love them as much as I do. I’ve boiled some eggs to make egg salad. I eat it as a sandwich or serve a portion with a side of tortilla chips or bean crackers. I’ve frozen the remainder of the taco soup and the hummus from last week.

I had mashed cauliflower with 8 oz of cooked mushrooms & a little bit of chicken breast for breakfast....for lunch I ate left over super bowl food...assorted fresh vegetables 2 stuffed jalapeno peppers and an apple. for dinner I ate roasted Brussel sprouts, roasted broccoli, a whole piece of corn on the cob and 2 thin slices of beef. I also shop at Aldi.... They have the best produce prices in my town. Love the new grill. The next time pineapple is .99 cents at Aldi you should grill it with your chicken. It is incredible grilled. I saw you do your debt free scream. Congratulations. All your food looks real good. I don't know if you know it or not, but you can keep cut apples from turning brown by using just a little bit of lemon or lime juice. I put a small amount of lemon juice in a ziplock sandwich bag. Then I put three or four slices of Apple at a time in there and switch it around. Of course Aldi has lemon juice too.

Lol, I see you don’t answer questions about Jacob, which is good thing. I am just wondering how you do groceries? Do you plan together? Shop together and split the bill or do you have another way of making it work?
@BudgetGirl5 жыл бұрын
I usually respond to one or two comments asking about jacob and food but there are dozens in the comments and it seems silly to answer each. We plan by meal. he'll buy and cook a couple meals a week or if I forget something, he'll pick it up. he also picks up the tab eating out more often. My budget is the same as when I was single, so I'm not spending more.

Aside from making the video, do you take everything out of the bags and onto the counter before putting them away? I do that all the time for two reasons; first, so my wife can see everything we have for the week (I usually go on my own) and second I end up doing a quick clean of the refrigerator prior to the new stuff going in.
@BudgetGirl5 жыл бұрын
Haha, I generally don't "pose" my food unless I'm filming, but i do a clean out of the fridge and make sure its organized for the week though :-)

I love beef stroganoff but I can't eat noodles. Have you ever made it with something else like spaghetti squash. And I'm in NH and the price of strawberries is crazy and they aren't even that sweet. I've been craving them though so yesterday at Walmart, I paid $7.84 for the big pack.
