I'm not sure how I got here, but I found the narration to be hysterical funny and was laughing tears! I've recently discovered the 'joys' of feeding flightless fruit flies to to a tiny jumping spider sling. Thanks for the tips and laughs!

I'm an old lady and just melted a hole in the plastic top to put the tube. I want to keep the culture in the tank for my dwarf frogs when I go away for a few days. To coax them out I have a glass suction cup cup up high in the tank and the tube leads that way to the fruit. My jar is about 4 times as big as yours.

I've had success getting more of them down the tube with some gentle tapping while holding the fruit flys at an angle to get a gravity assist.

I'm waiting to see this invention applied to mass produced products and not just for fruit flie collection.

This is going to sound really lazy but I had just bought the flightless fruit flies tonight to feed a house gecko I found that literally is smaller than the end of a child's pinky. I bored the hole with the end of a pocket knife halfway up the side of the container of flies and put a flexible drinking straw that has the elbow in it and then I ran it down into the small aquarium. Since the lizard needs live food and is too small to handle it is almost completely touch-free and escape-proof...... But I couldn't have done it without your inspiration.😉👍

This actually works better if you attach the tubes from the tub to each enclosure you wish to feed. It will drip feed your inverts.

That’s one way to do it. Maybe if my ants were a bigger stronger species. It wouldn’t work for me because my ants are terrible at hunting. I also prefer to feed fresh killed vs live. Also some people have to add vitamin powder to the flies first, depending on the pet. But any variation that works for you is awesome. 😊👍

@@KittyOnATRex Apologies I had no idea this was for ants. I was thinking of mantids, slings etc. In this case your way was better.
