We found Tent Caterpillars/Worms on one of our fruit trees. We treat the worms and tree with a quick, Monterey Bt spraying. Spraying before the Sun fully rises and temperatures are below 80 F helps prevent sunburn or sunscald on tender plants.

We have to try the BT on our new trees. Is it to early to spray our tree's we just got them. That's a big nest. Your tree looks healthy. The Mulberry tree is huge. This was great information for new tree growers like us. We can't wait to see the new area. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy your evening
@EssayonsFG
@EssayonsFG Жыл бұрын
You can spray the Monterey All Season Horticultural spray year round, every three months. The Bt is more of a spot treatment when you see worms or caterpillars infestation on your fruit trees. It is ok to spray your young trees, as the pest love young and tender leaves to feast on in the Spring. But try to spray out of direct sunlight early or late in the day. This also helps avoid spraying beneficial bees and lady bugs. Looking forward to seeing more of your fruit trees! Stay blessed!

We get those Bag Worms / Tent worms on our Lilac trees and in the past I have usually cut off the infested branch and burned it. Good tip on what you’re using Rob. I have two what we’re supposed to be American Crab Apple trees. I planted them 20 yards apart and although they have flowered every year for the past five years they have never once borne fruit. I suspect they are too far apart to get cross pollination.
@EssayonsFG
@EssayonsFG Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching, Don. A lot of folks say cut and burn the infested branches but I've never done that myself. We've only had an infestation 3 or four times since moving her 11 years ago and never on the same tree. I'm surprised your apples are producing yet. Maybe get a different variety to plant close by?
