Coconuts are a symbol of the tropics. I love them. The taller the more I like them. I have Fiji dwarves, Maypan and Atlantic tall. My Fiji dwarf makes a lot of coconuts. I’m near Orlando area

If your near Orlando how do you protect them every year with below 32 degrees? at least once every winter?
@Offshore1977Ай бұрын
@@myfloridabackyard7984 when they were young I used to cover them with metal fencing and wrap it in furniture plastic wrap. I would also put i condescend Christmas lights in the structure. Now that they are older I let them fend for them selves. So far they are doing great with 6-7 ft of trunk. I make sure they are well fertilized theouout the year so they stand a good chance.

Dustin is a very honest and helpful man! I have bought many trees from him, and even though I’m not his largest customer, he always treats me like family. Great Video, I respect both of you highly!

I bought 4 coconut plants that said dwarf on the tag but no variety was listed. I bought them from a big name store. How can I find out what variety they are. Although I love them I can’t have huge super tall trees because of the power lines and very small yard. Any help??

I have both of those varieties so far they seem pretty easy to care for. Unfortunately, our winters in zone 9b don’t allow them to grow as fast as they would in South Florida.. Thanks for sharing now I have to go check to see if I have a true dwarf Fiji lol.

Nice video! How old are the trees? It would be great to know how long it takes for them to reach that height.

Didn’t know this existed! Super interesting! 🙂 Is it possible to top-off a coconut tree to make it stay short?

Dwarf conunuts will eventually get as big as normal ones.. But they will produce conunuts in a smaller tree. Dwarf just means that it can produce fruit on a small tree.
@geriannroth44914 күн бұрын
That's true but some varieties bear & remain short for quite a few years before shooting up and then because of the genetics they will grow to a maximum of maybe 20-30 feet

Just a tip , do not buy large coconut trees . Even a freshly sprouted dwarf coconut will produce in 3 years

I love most of your video but it's so annoying listen to a man complain about people stealing his fruits.

Funny and weird crime we have here in Florida is fruit theft.
