I have a feeling that none of them would've offed her.....Akito would've taken her own life after that if she had died. She had finally reached out to Tohru only for her to be ripped from her the ONLY person who still wants to connect with her and help her. That alone would've cause me to dive off that cliff with her.

I did think so. I think Tohru is the key to break the bond of the zodiacs. Both her existence and her death have big affection to the zodiacs. So if she hadn’t survived, the bond would still be broken but maybe in the very dark way. The zodiacs, especially Kyo, might try to attack Akito. No one could know its consequences but probably the balance between the zodiacs and the god would be destroyed.

I love this anime. The feels from this anime and characters are all relatable. Tohru - abandonment issue Kyo - guilt and loniless Yuki - insecurities and acceptance Ritsu - family abuse Momiji - mother abandonment Hatsuhara - rage and dealing with criticism Kagura - pride Hatori - romantic loss/love Risu - identity issue Shigure - betrayal by loved a loved one Hiro - young love and being powerless to help those around him All this from an anime.

Exactly! It's so satisfying to see an anime deal with psychological issues. No wonder a lot deeply connects with the series, because at some point they see themselves on at least one of the characters. And the desire to see the characters have their happy ending is what makes it so beautiful because we eventually saw it happen at the end. Fruits basket easily came on my all time fave list 😭
