Man, this golf testimony is almost identical to mine. He told me I needed to kneel beside the bed every night and pray. And so I did, for many months. Months later I was seeking him waaaay more than just kneeling beside the bed to pray. So one day, I knelt to pray and he says "You don't need to do this anymore, I have your attention".

1. Business/Distractions - having your attention diverted - hobbies, cell phones, things, relationships, work 2. Competing voices - make an appointment with God. Read your Bible or you will be easily deceived and misled because your relationship with god becomes more around the realm of your feelings instead of the realm of truth. - Even in your waiting phase be busy doing things. - Schedule your day! 3. Unprepared heart - Keep your heart soft and fertile through - worship, reading Bible and reflecting - Prayer, reverential fear of the lord - “ For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also,” (Matthew 6:21). Before you give someone your heart, you must determine the condition of theirs. 4. Not having your heart in a neutral position Having Idols set up in your heart Covetousness - a strong desire for something you believe is good for you. Stubbornness- push back from what we know God has said in his word. - Giving your strength and love to something more than God - hold things above God in your heart - every time you ask God for something make sure your heart is neutral to accept the answer you receive 5. Sin / disobedience

Exactly. People think they need to hear an audible voice guiding them, and that couldn’t be more wrong. Voices in your head are manifestations of your thoughts. Thoughts that can be guided by what your brain believes to be true. If you want guidance when making important decisions it’s really simple. 1. Read your Bible, because it holds the truth you need to live the way God wants you to. 2. Pray that you would correctly interpret that truth. 3. Make decisions joyfully within the freedom of that truth.

@@j_fbi7610 He can speak within your mind though and, from what I've seen, this is far more common than hearing an audible voice anyway. Can some of those cases be manifestations of thought? Yes but I do not think it is fair to always dismiss them as such. In my own life God has spoken to me within my mind twice, with about a 20 year gap in between that. And part of how I knew it was him speaking was not only what he said but that I could recognize that what I was hearing in my mind was not from me.

I have been struggling for weeks trying to finish projects and apply for things I realize I have been coveting, and that I never truly asked the Lord for with a neutral heart. I said I wanted to hear His voice and obey Him, but in this situation I think I made up what I wanted to hear and went with it saying well "the Lord cares about what I care about, so let me pray for what I care about", not leaving space for the Lord to tell me what He cared about most in that time. I was so foolish and stubborn. I am grateful that the Lord led me to this video and opened my eyes. Now, I understand that I have erred and I need to repent. Thank you Lord God for this revealation and the opportunity to repent. Thank you Lord for using your servant John to share this message, may he be highly blessed and favored for his obedience. Wow I'm only halfway through this video and it's already speaking directly to me! Especially about the golf addiction! I'm in the middle of that now and told my family yesterday that I was going to put my clubs up for a little while. So of course I stumble on this video today. I read the Bible daily and watch sermons daily as well but am still addicted to distractions I realize. It's so bad that my friends that I have a group text with, renamed the group God and Golf to give me a hard time since that's all I ever talk to them about these days. I'm hoping the end of the video addresses this. What if you do have too many distractions in your life but still spend daily time with God? Since I have been saved 3 years ago, it seems like I'll do anything to not have to deal with this world. So I "think" I use the distractions to escape the world at times and not necessarily God. But my job and my family suffer I realize after typing this out and I don't want that to be the case anymore!
@patrickmba76385 ай бұрын
That's an interesting situation. You make time for God but still admit to many distractions. Thinking about it, I might be in a somewhat similar boat myself . Not exactly ,but similar. I think coming up with a schedule might help. Especially as we are forced to face up to the importance or otherwise of what is going to be on the schedule.

Should the guy in the example simply prayed to be married or ask if he’s meant to be married? What difference would that wording had made when in his heart he knew he wanted to be with the cutie? 🔊🔊 The LORD is not silence. He has been speaking to us since the first day of Adam and Eve. The LORD said to obey him, and everything will go well in our lives. JESUS even said it, "The scriptures have been fulfilled." ALL we need to do is to read the Bible and follow the Gospel of the LORD, and all your prayers will be answered in the time of the LORD and not when we want. We need to learn to stay calm and continue in obedience to our Heavenly Father and to be at peace and not all nervous and full of worries. The only worries we should have is how we are standing in the presence of the LORD.

Im not sure where it says things will go well in your lives. Jesus and the disciples obeyed, things didnt go well. Are you sure you arent a prosperity gospeler? I would say Job obeyed God but things didnt go well. If things are going well is it possible you are following the god of this world? In my opinion Satan goes after good people, he leaves the bad ones alone or even blesses them for following him. Why are we told to endure till the end if this life was so easy just by obeying God?
