Suffering should never be an acceptable normal. I had a similar experience while living in Nigeria concerning a brand new freezer too after just a few months from buying but, a road side fridge technician helped me to repipe it. It’s a shame that S.O.N is not doing their job in Nigeria. Home is good but these unnecessary stresses are not acceptable. Lady Flo, sorry for the inconveniences. Praying things change for the better down home. Happy new year ❤

I am so sorry. I feel your frustration. We had the same experience two years ago. All the soups and stew we cooked spoiled. We were constantly running our diesel generator until it went bad and we switched over the smaller generator which could not carry the fridge and freezer hence why we threw away all the food since they went bad. Nigeria is not for the faint heart. I thought I was ready for any inconvenience we would experience in Nigeria but this one was way too much for me and my family to handle. I pray that you are able to fix both fridge and refrigerator. As always I enjoy watching your village series vlogs ❤

Pele Flo. I can feel your pain, judging from the very long hiss at the end video.😁 Spending money you didn't plan/budget for can be really frustrating. Nigeria does not only happen to humans, it happens to home appliances as well. It can be really frustrating, especially the issue of power supply. That is why every home in Nigeria has it own different parastatal, ministry of power supply (solar, inverter + generator), ministry of water supply (borehole), ministry of security (estate, community security + gateman), and so on. Things that should be basic government provision. May Nigeria not happen to us. 🙏🙏🙏

Nigeria has a regulatory agency called Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), consider reporting that refrigerator manufacturer to them. It seems that SON are mainly punishing local indigenous manufacturers or importers and seizing products that they have already invested heavily on, for being sub-standard; However it seems SON may not be holding these foreign manufacturers to the same standards.

Omg, this is sooooo sad. I have the same freeze and fridge theromcool products in my house in Nigeria for 5 years now, I just keep it running, and I never trun it off seen it was trun on. It is also an inveter product, it is working well for me. I believe that because I have 24-hour solar lights and my mother is also there to keep the house running for me when we are not around. My beautiful sister, flo, you are very right, solar, is very, very expensive. 5 years ago, when I installed solar energy in the house, it cost me 8. 7 million than it was $14 thousand Canadian dollars. all the buildings in the compound. it was not easy for me ooo, but I thank GOD that I did it because it is now very, very, very expensive. because of the high dollar rate now. I am soooo sorry you want though all that this holiday season. I missed some of your videos because of work, I will try and watch them all. please take it easy , my regards to the family 👪 ❤❤❤❤

Sorry o. I had similar stress with my 25 kva Perkins generator. I have use the generator for Christmas of 2023, Easter of 2024 for a total of 276 running hours. Only for me and family to arrive for Christmas 2024 to find that the the generator would not start. Called a technician in the village. He informed us that the battery to start the generator is dead. Took it for charging and it would not hold charge. I tried to buy a new one and the quoted me 90k I had to rent battery for 6k a day while I was there. Next the gen start cutting off with an error message of current overload. The whole load in the house is 15.2% of the generator’s capacity. It makes no sense. Called the company, they want me to pay for their engineer’s transportation to come from Lagos to diagnose the issue. Thank God I had installed a 8kva solar inverter system. That is how we survived the day and use the generator only at night with less load.

Sometimes there are counterfeit products in the market that use the Haier Thermocool name, so it’s worth double-checking its authenticity especially if it wasn’t purchased from an authorized store or a confirmed distributor Generally, Haier Thermocool products are reliable and high-quality, but getting the original is the problem.

I was going to say this too..Too many counterfeits especially in the east o! I'm using their normal Thermocool Freezer for almost 4 years now, haven't had a problem with it. My neighbour was among the first to buy those inverter freezer types but, she hasn't had a problem either with it and it's over 5 years, we're in Lagos though..I bought Thermocool even becos of her as our power here is so unstable...There's a 3 year warranty on the cabinet & compressor. Mayber when Aunty Flo noticed the 1st issue, she would had it shipped it back to them at Onitsha, they would have had it fixed at little or, no charge to u especially if it was less than 6 months. Thank God that Freezer guy knew his onions and did a very neat job

If only you watched to the end, you will hear when I said that I went to their official distributor in Onitsha myself to buy this. I even have a video on my other channel. I ALWAYS go to the official dealers when buying these things. My LG fridge purchased since 2017 has never given me a single issue. I usually buy everything from LG. My husband wanted to go for this one for the hype, even wanted us to buy the washing machine from them, thank God I said NO to that one because their washing machines looked ugly. Never again with this brand.

Honestly I don’t know what is wrong with Nigeria manufacturing products. The fridge freezer which I bought since 2015 in the United Kingdom is still working perfectly and the fridge freezer my wife bought from charity shop oh . It’s stronger than majority of the freezer in Nigeria. Nigeria is very stressful and frustrating to live, I feel people pain in trying to survive and do business in a toxic environment. The government has it fault in this allowing fake weak products into the country. I suggest that you bought from UK or American countries and shipped it back to Nigeria

From experience, you are better off just purchasing a new freezer/fridge hoohaa. My mom spent and spent on repairs....at the end of the day, it would have been cheaper if she had gotten a new one and moved on. Eventually, she threw the freezer out

Somebody said you should report to SON, if SON is doing their job in the first place, she won’t even have reasons to report to them. My father sells iron rod and SON is always ripping them off their business money claiming they are selling rod not in line with their standard. Rod that they know the road to the companies manufacturing it. But the companies have bribed them and pushed their product to the market and SON will be going to retailers to seal their shop! SON indeed! Biko aunty Flo no vex!

Such a pain. They will leave the companies making the rods but come to the market to harass traders. Make it make sense! 😞 I was just telling someone else that SON doesn't do anything to live up to their name.
