After getting word that Hamilton County would be clearing out the T-Bolts for a batch of new sirens, I decided I better get at least one on film while I still had the chance. Andy (carexpertandy) told me to head up to catch this 1000.
This siren obviously has a broken rotator. I figure they haven't been too worried about the condition of their Thunderbolts (unlike my home city- Louisville) because they are replacing them all. I was hoping this siren was a grid face, but after last months failed test in Cinci, I was just glad to get what I did.
Oh, and sorry about the jackass tow-truck driver who WAITED for the wind down on the attack to drive by and ruin it.
If there are still active Thunderbolts in Cincinnati next month, I will be back up for Decembers test! Thank's Andy and thanks for watching!

@6V92TA Wow really? I would say about half of the Thunderbolt's I have seen on the internet from various cities are mounted on buildings! In Louisville, we only have two building-mounted Thunderbolts, and only one is actually active, but places like Denver have most or all of them mounted on buildings. I have, however, never seen a Thunderbolt on a water tower!

Yep, it's an A1 blower. Most of Cincinnati's thunderbolts had them, as the system was put in during the early 1950's.

@@Videogamer52100 yessir. This comment was way back when I just started getting into sirens. If I recall correctly, most of Cincinnati's Thunderbolts were installed in 1954. Some of course were earlier as they were jailbar units, and there was of course ones installed later, especially in the suburbs like Xenia.

​@@TheSleepyMechanic0524 Most of them did get installed in 1954. The earlier 1000 went up in 1953, and was installed on the Patheon building. Hamilton Ohio got their Thunderbolts in 1977 and all had 4m blowers. Xenia's were installed no later than 1975 as the city wanted them installed quickly after the outbreak of 1974.
