Nice as always. I wish us all a better 2023. By the way for future ideas: I found some real world flights suited for a April 1st video because they are so ludicrously short. All flown by Eurowings with a A319 and I'm sure doing them in an A320 is fine as well. DTM to DUS. DUS to CGN. The latter one is flown at a measly 5000ft and takes 5 minutes. ;)

Those flights are usually ferry flights where an aircraft diverted previously. I've done one from DUS to CGN as well in the 737, we literally were handed from one tower to the next, no radar controllers in between. Really fun to do these!

If there's a US version, that might be KORD - KMKE. It's barely an hour and a half on the ground driving, but some of our regional airlines sling ERJ-145s, CRJ-200s on ludicrous 20min flights between the two airports. I've flown it as a passenger before and it felt more like a rollercoaster ride than a flight.

Adding anecdote, it's a good break-the-ice conversation in my native Milwaukee to ask if you'd fly or drive to Chicago. Some fly, some think it's ridiculous and drive haha.

FS2Crew has no effect on GSX. You need to control both separately and make the best out of it for your immersion.

Nice.....can you tell me if you're controlling the take-off with the tiller, do you release that at 80knts and use rudder from then onwards, and v.v. on landing/roll-out after 60knts?

Don't use the tiller, use the rudder pedals. Chances of overcontrolling and breaking something are much too high using the tiller.

@@transair27 Nosewheel is coupled to the rudders, gives you like 7° of deflection on each side. more than enough to maintain centerline as the rudder becomes aerodynamically effective

The cabin crew voices will never be heard that clear from the flight deck unless you are tuning into the PA system comms

You can actually hear when something's said in the cabin if you watch for it. Actually understanding what they say is more diffiult though. However the FO actually does turn up the volume of the PA and speaker on his ACP so it is realistic that you hear something.

@@elbapino6531 If I understood your question correctly, he has the autothrottle engaged ("A/T" switch is ON), which automatically moves the thrust levers in order to maintain the selected speed.

Your cargo numbers seem way low for a full plane. What do you allocate for bags per passenger?

I use 13kg per bag, however there is a huge misunderstanding in flight simming: Does every passenger carry a bag? Most don't. Most have hand luggage only. to give you an idea, in real life even with 189 pax on a holiday flight we rarely carry more than 1000kg in the holds.

FS2Crew and GSX don't overlap in functionality. The only thing to consider is timing during the preflight, when to start the boarding via GSX, but only for realism. GSX wil start the actions when you tell it to, FS2Crew has a 30min countdown-timer for preflight with crew asking your permission to start boarding at ETD -21mins and bringing the loadsheet (if you want) at ETD -10mins. You just need to time GSX accordingly.

Hope so! It'll take me a little while to get up and running with the voice control version, learning those different procedures is something I'm very careful with not to mess anything up at work. Thus I'll take my time for it.

It is. I needed to record this one three times, because when I did it previously for some unknown reason the framerate recorded by Streamlabs would drop to one frame per second (while the sim ran at the usual ~50). Thus I saved the flight in the meantime. It was unfortunate that the recording kept playing, but I didn't want to risk wasting another hour of recording, for something I would only find out later when reviewing the recorded material.

@@A330Driver so to fix the issue with the windows voice recognition, I suggest that you use a microphone splitter: one microphone, two inputs use a push to talk program on the first input that would only be used for the addon, and then use the second input to talk to your recording program

Not really sure the target audience of this. Seems like you're paying for the software to startup the aircraft for you, with robotic voices to boot. Is there a better program that provides cockpit/ground crew voices and realism but without any automation?
