Well i had 2 FS70 that i replaced the clutchs. On both units i broke the top bolt . I gues putting bags over these units is not a bad idea. Now both are making a weird noise like a load grinding. i guess i didnt put it back together properly. I might take them apart and try one more time.

Ya you can put a bag over them. Or get a bucket and cut out a place so the shaft fits down in and then you can put the lid back on the bucket. Itll hold up better than the bag. There are some washers in by the clutches if I'm not mistaken. Just make sure they are in the correct way next time you have it apart.

Why do people leave their equipment in the rain to get so much rust. I have stihl equipment up to 26 years old. Only “rusted” bolts I ever encountered was exhaust bolts. Keep nice equipment nice.

These are used for work. So they stay in the back of our trucks all summer. We usually get 4 or 5 years out of them... but we also use them probably about 50 times more than your normal user. It's just part of the job. 🤷‍♂️

Haha thats the gas patch man. You should see half of these trimmers. They are so beat. As long as we get a few years out of them the company doesn't mind. Stihl wont even warranty them because we use them so much 😂
