FSM Sea Faring Canoe Makes It To Japan

This past August, Federated States of Micronesia's sea faring crew sailed the Lien Polowat, a traditional Polowat canoe to Guam and shipped it to its new home in Japan's Oceanic Culture Museum in Okinawa.
Master Navigator and Chief, Teo Onopey and his crew sailed the Lien Polowat or Lady of Polowat for four days to Guam before dismantling the canoe and shipping it to Okinawa. Upon arriving in Okinawa, the crew reassembled the canoe and placed it on display at the Museum.
The canoe was reportedly constructed by the request of the Japan Government.
It will be displayed at the Museum, which is expected to reopen in October this year after undergoing renovation.
This is the third Waseres (sea faring canoe) from the FSM to Japan.
