I remember this game like it was yesterday. I grew up and Detroit, but like kids I like FSU because of their exposure and the uniforms, and Deion Sanders. This Michigan team was great, but this FSU team was awesome....

It was Dan Mowery at the time, then I think they replaced him a guy named Thomas who missed the fg against Miami later on in the season. I remember watching this game and being absolutely stunned that Florida State just whooped on a pretty good Michigan team in 1991.

Michigan ended up making a big mistake in scheduling Appalachian St. because they lost 34-32 in one of college football's biggest upsets. Florida St. had a scare last year vs. Troy, but at least they managed to rally and win. Michigan had a chance to win the Appalachian St. game on a last second field goal, but it was blocked.

@tdrewman That LSU game in the rain.... right before UM - like 2 of FSU's starting O-line went down with knee injuries, including big-time center Mancini. Still think that game influenced the final 2 game's outcome more than anything.

This was the most tolerable of any of the losses I've seen us suffer. That FSU team was awesome, the did a fine job agains Desmond in the 2nd half. I seem to remember several missed extra points, what was up with their kicker?

A lot of people font have great knowledge if history . Michigan beat FSU in 1986. If Michigan avoids the bad tackling and turnovers this game is close and Michigan could of won . Michigan beat many good teams at the big house . Michigan in the now as of 2014 has great talent but coaching and leadership must improve to become a national power again and if hoke can't get it done this year he won't be around next year. Michigan beat miami in 1984 and lost by one point to them in 1988 , Michigan has beaten good PAC 12 and SEC teams. . Go blue for life .

Those missed tackles were because Michigan couldn't match up athletically with FSU that day. They had nowhere near the team speed that FSU did, & it was readily apparent in this game..
