FSX Freeware amazing T-45 Goshawk review (Aircraft by Dino Cattaneo)

Hands down, Dino Cattaneo is the best freeware aircraft maker. The love he puts into everything is insane, and he's still at it! I just hope he never burns out.

I got this model years ago and it's still one My go to models. He did such a wonderful job on this. So glad so many appreciate it and as many have said, I have payware that is shamed by this Model !

***** And I was wrong. Shortly after seeing more of this model I realized there was something different about it and it turned out, this is an updated version of Dino's 2009 model of which I have. I downloaded this one too. I like this newer one better except the pilots no longer look around in the cockpit which I thought was cool and added something in flight to see them looking around. But all in all, a wonderful model either model.

Yes, Dino has updated the aircraft since this video was filmed so I actually now fly the latest release. After all, it's such a good model, who wouldn't? Cheers, Rich :-)

Thanks for the review and the link ! Insane ! When I loaded it the only thing I could find wrong with it was it actually might be too clean! It looks better than a brand new one would in real life, and gives it a too clean look ...absolutely amazing render !

Yes, I've heard of it. Many haven't though because it's not widely advertised and it's also quite old (2009 I think). At the moment, I'm interested by the DCS Hawk due out soon which looks like it's going to be a superb rendition.

Should I invest in DCS? How much of an improvement is it?

You can get DCS World which is the core flight sim for free off their web site and it comes with a fully functioning SU25 combat plane, and with a civilian P51. It is a complex sim so you can't just jump in and fly a' la fsx. It is however very detailed and has a big online following. If you enjoy that then other aircraft can be bought as bolt on modules and DCS frequently have sales with 50 to 70% off. It is a very immersive world, but don't expect to fly 737's out of Heathrow. The scenery is nice and detailed but is set in the Baltic/Russian area I think. I have the dcs a10c and the level of detail is amazing, however, to use it properly takes hours of time being invested into it.

Thanks for an incredible review of this excellent aircraft. You are definitely right that everything from Dino is worth paying for. I am an avid fan of the F-14 having worked with them, but his other aircraft all have a special place in my FS hangar. I would really like to see your review of the Tomcat or his S-3 Viking when it is released (he says within a few weeks on his blog). Have you acquired any of the A2A aircraft? They are all spectacular in their own way and honestly mimic every nuance of the aircraft that a pilot will experience. The latest one they just came out with is the Piper Cherokee which is a blast. I would recommend the Spitfire though for a first purchase. They are pricey, but I rank them with PMDG and VRS for being the pinnacle of FSX development at this time.

Also one of my faves although sadly Dino's recently been targeted by Ransom-ware and has lost most of his work. The downloads are still available, but it's a desperate blow for one of the best FSX/P3D developers out there.

Hi John, It was the previous version I downloaded. As I understand it v270 is the final release. It does have the documents but they are tucked away in simobjects/airplanes/boeing_t45c/docs Hope that helps. And yes, it has previously been mentioned that I have a similar style to DaSquirrelsNuts which given the quality of that channel I take as a complement. Thanks
