Just a couple of tips: -FD should be always engaged for guidance in case of autopilot disconnect and/or go around -You don't need to disconnect the autothrottle, as the autothrottle idles itself at 17ft RA. If you want to disconnect it, use the side buttons on the throttle (you can make a key bind in the fmc) instead of the MCP for the autothrottle to re-engage after pressing TO/GA for go around

hey there I was wondering, I was able to do the ILS approach but when am on final approach the autopilot disengages by itself and tells me on the display (no auto-land) do you know how to fix this? thanks
@SecondPixelGaming7 жыл бұрын
Hmm, I've never had that issue, try posting your issue on the PMDG forums.
@IulianSofronie7 жыл бұрын
It happens to me few times. Try to get the full landing config until 1.500 AGL from the init FMC. That means gear down, flaps 30 and speed for this flaps configuration. Then you will get LAND 3.
@PramodRaiK6 жыл бұрын
I have faced the same issue until i realized Autoland will not happen unless you are fully configured for landing. Follow the checklist and it will happen. :)

Great idea! I have been working on some videos you and my other viewers may like, so I hope to see your thoughts on them when I have them uploaded. If I still did not manage to create something you liked, please let me know so I can adjust my content so that it will fit your requests.

Also, what scenery add-on(s) did you use for the airports.
@SecondPixelGaming8 жыл бұрын
I didnt use any scenery addons, it was just the default airports. I do have some addons however that do make the airports look a little different. If you'd like the full list, lettme know.

Hey man thanks for a great vid but i got a question...what exactly are stars? are these the intersections?
@SecondPixelGaming8 жыл бұрын
+DominicanRat83 Glad you liked the video! Thank you so much! STARS are not intersections, they are a group of specific way points/VOR's that will set you up for an approach to an active runway. Often controllers will tell you to arrive via a certain STAR. This will make sure that you will follow the correct approach path with other traffic. They are most commonly used in the XXXXX# format, EX: KRANN2 - You need to make sure you have the correct charts with you for the approach you will be flying and the correct RWY ILS charts on hand. These will really help you hit the Glide Slope spot on at the right altitude and so on. I hope this helped you understand STARS a bit better, if you have any further questions, I am happy to answer!

@cnabdrinmntiq69338 жыл бұрын
Hi bro, I'm just curious did you go through Approach charts beforehand or just relied on Navigation Display info(I mean you just maintained 3000ft)? Because LOC/GS capture altitudes are different for each aerodrome. By the way great approach and landing.
@SecondPixelGaming8 жыл бұрын
Sorry for this late response, I did use the ILS approach charts for this runway. It isn't completely necessary, but it can help you better catch the GS. In addition, it can also help create a better approach to the runway. Thanks for your positive feedback, I love to hear what my viewers think, Thanks so much!

You don't need to take out the autothrottle. It idles itselves.
@rosanam1n7 жыл бұрын
lol is it really that easy just pop in a co route and select your approach pretty much:D
@markcomputertech79977 жыл бұрын
You completely failed to let anyone know that you MUST press the LOC button on the MCP to lock onto the Localizer!! YOU ALSO MUST Press the APPR BUTTON BELOW THE LOC BUTTON to lock onto the GS and do an auto landing. It wont happen any other way! How Stupid!!! TO MISS THAT and not explain it!!
