This video is so nostalgic to me. I built a knock off QAV 230 back in 2016, but my first real quad that I kept and flew for years was an FT 210. I probably watched this video start to finish 5 times waiting for those parts to show up! Great frame, great KZbin channel!

Dude. I caught your little Bob Ross call out, and I think it couldn't be any more appropriate. Bob Ross made me feel confident that I could paint. You guys have made me feel confident that I can build a quadcopter. Thanks so much!

Guys, get a solder sucker and be sure you keep the soldering iron tips cleaned and tinned by wiping with a wet sponge or paper periodically, then retin with solder. Always create a thermal bridge with solder when soldering and desoldering. Keep the area cleaned of flux with isopropyl alcohol. Enjoying the build vids.

This is by far the best, most complete, and cleanest build video I have seen on youtube. The only thing I am going to do differently is to re-heat-shrink my ESC's, but that is just personal preference. Everything you did was nicely direct soldered and routed beautifully. I love the idea of mounting the PDB almost directly to the frame, it saves that 1/4" of room that some builds will need.

Solder on the tip creates a "heat highway" to the solder joint. It provided a path for which the temperature can transfer, tip to solder joint, more readily.

a good tip for when soldering wires together like you were at 44:00 is to offset each connection. This means that when insulating them, you only worry about insulating from the outside instead of from each other. instead of: do this: ====(connection)==== =(connection)======= obviously the connections would be smaller than this so they wouldn't overlap ====(connection)==== ====(connection)==== and heat shrink works just as well ====(connection)==== =======(connection)=

TJ, I completed the build and went to plug in the Naze 32 to betaflight. I did not get any lights on the Naze 32 board. Now I have to deconstruct the build to replace the Naze 32 board. I have 5 or 6 soldering iron and only my good old weller is working 100% of the time every time. They all get hot, they all kinda get the job done. But that one weller is just that much better. Sometimes a beginner might think he suck but sometimes it is truly the equipment that sucks. I'm saying this so that young people that starts dont get discouraged because soldering with a bad iron is hell.

nice build very good insight TJ …! also just a suggestion that I use inplace of the softer Loctite blue , things that need or might need to come apart I use clear womens nail polish …. yes I said it lol …. its not as unsightly or messy as Loctite and does the job , also use it to weatherproof the ends of shrink tubing …. now it does feel a little uncomfortable walking up to a register and just buying it ….. lol wipe excess off brush and wipe across threads , all that's needed …. great channel …!
