Getting ready to build this one. I built the nutball. Have all the electronics but no charger for a 2 cell battery. Good example of how it flies.

since these planes don't have any airfoil in the wings they get lift from the angle of the wings....basically they have to fly in kind of a high alpha attitude in order to get any lift...so yea...they all fly like this...don't let that throw you of of them though...they fly really well...and for someone not afraid of building, is in my opinion one of the best choices for a first time flyer...not only are they easy to fly, but you have useful electronics you can use in the future...

That was really cool. I wonder if the raptor was hungry or protecting it's area. Have you tried putting some down thrust on the motor mount, like 3 degrees? Thanks for sharing.

HAWK-Cam! Awesome!

Not flying yet myself but have to ask... is that the way all the FT Flyers handle? Looks like it is just hanging on the end of the prop. I've got the plans cut out for one but have yet to assemble it. Great shot of the hawk too!

Get some XT60 connecters, much easier to install and plug / unplug., BTW, my money's on the Hawk if he tangles with your plane!

I did end up switching to XT60s eventually. And no bet on that hawk, I'm sure he'd/she'd shred anything I flew. :-)

How has over propping worked out for you? I am running nearly the exact same setup (D2822/14 motor, 30a ECS, 1000mah 35C 3s battery) but I am also running the recommended 7x4.5 but it seems a bit underpowered. I was thinking of moving to either an 8x4.5 or better yet a 9x4.7 prop but I am scared to burn out my motor with the 9x4.7. how well has it worked out for you? would you recommend it? Thanks!

I've never burned out a motor. With the light weight frames I fly (ft swappables) I rarely carry more than half throttle. In this video, at one point I 'punch it up' and it just leaps into the air.

Had a Hawk try to take me out the other day. I feel our pain.
