The premier will always be one of my favorite business jets. A pax seat view down the wing would be just 👍👌

natemarmy I'll put that on my list. I wouldn't mind seeing that view either....i've never been in the back in flight!

Mammoth Airport is MMH. I learned to ski there in 1973. Pick a good time of year to go there. These past two winters there has been low snowfalls due to our rain problems. Usually the mountain is open until July 4th for skiing and is about the same size as Vail. It is my number one fav behind Deer Valley. I do hope you get a chance to ski there someday.

Steve B I like it too. I think it adds a lot. I'm going to try and do more of this in the future. Sometimes its just too much work for me to do the flying part and the video stuff so I just let the cameras stay fixed and roll the tape. Thanks for watching!

Your videos are awesome! I am a Canadian and have seen the Thunderbirds a few times! I kind of thought you were a F-16 Pilot ! I would love to see a video of you flying past the Matterhorn and the Jungfrau in Switzerland and then you can enjoy a bit of skiing too! You do very nice camera work. I live a couple miles from CYYB.

Hi John. Thanks for the comments. Yes, I did fly the F-16 for 10 years in the 1990's. Strangely, it doesn't seem like very long ago. I was never a Thunderbird though.

Thanks Greg for removing the non-synchronizing sound channels…many wouldn’t have went through the trouble. I found it interesting watching the fast-forward segment while taxiing to the departure point-your passenger appears to display Freudian discomfort, increasingly, to the hold line…followed by a quick text to love ones in the event something goes wrong. I know that’s not the case but it’s quite amusing. As always...thanks Greg for taking the time to share your well-earned opportunities, it’s certainly appreciated.

It's interesting you notice that. He is generally very comfortable flying but on takeoffs and landings he gets a little tense. I've gotten used to it....he obviously hasn't. :-)

Nice video. I noticed that your passenger was very quiet. I know you need to concentrate on flying the airplane. He sips his coffee and let's you take care of business. Excellent camera work Greg. I liked the way that you showed dialing in the radio frequency when asked to contact Miami Center 132.45.
@dionlindsay25 жыл бұрын
A small point but mine own. I love the plane and I love the video, but I hate that your passenger has his nose in his cell phone, Mind you I dream of a world where I can say "It's my house, phones etc only in the study" or "I'm driving, no personal technology. Read, talk or look out the window". "You're here, engage with the here"

How do you get in to corporate world of aviation? I've been trying for years but lack tons of PIC time and have too much airline time. I enjoy your videos!

Greg, My question today is can you put your flight plan into the FMS before start up, e.g. when on the GPU? If you have done so, does the flight plan stay in the FMS if you shut down the power or is it lost? Seems like valuable range is being used up entering the flight plan after engine start up. Thanks.
@gregmink8 жыл бұрын
+Gm Furnald Yes, you can do it on GPU and it is stored. You aren't supposed to start with the avionics on, so you can set everything up with GPU power and then turn avionics off just prior to start. Then when you power back up, all that needs to be done is AHRS alignment and then you are done with avionics setup.

+Premier 1 Driver Thank you for that info. AOPA would call me a "Rusty Pilot" so I appreciate the info on the modern nav equipment. Hope to get back in the air again. BTW, my nephew writes for the Turbine edition of AOPA, Neil Singer. It looks like he mentors in Mustangs, Phenom 100's and a Challenger 300. Nice!

Greg, I'm loving your videos. Q= on departure from kfll you were given clearance direct Newer. At first, it seemed the fms was chasing the coordinates. Was that because of the winds, or does the premier kind of behave that way?
@gregmink8 жыл бұрын
+danpend Its been awhile since I filmed this so I don't remember right off hand. I watched the video and it does appear it chases it a little. Its usually pretty darn good at proceeding direct, but the only thing I can say is what you did....and perhaps it was the winds.

Hi you put so many hrs on your plane, what is the TBO and do you have a plan B when is in inspection. Thnk y for the video
@gregmink9 жыл бұрын
The TBO on the engines are 1750 for a hot section inspection and 3500 for the overhaul. Even the biggest of inspections generally don't take more than a week, so the airplane is rarely out of service.

I read your bio. You must of enjoyed flying F-16 jets while you were in the military. I am an avid skier too have you ever skied Mammoth in California? Mammoth has a small airport a few miles from the mountain. Deer Valley and Mammoth are my two favorite resorts. Take care.
@gregmink9 жыл бұрын
Never been to Mammoth. I have skied Deer Valley and Park City. My favorite is Telluride followed by Snowbird. I'd love to give Mammoth a try sometime as well as some of the skiing in the Alps.

Ok, I'm old and have not been in the cockpit in a few years, but when did position and hold change to line up and wait?
@gregmink9 жыл бұрын
+Mike D A few years back maybe. Part of the FAA's big push to cut down on runway incursions....although it isn't quite clear to me how the terminology improves that situation.
