Yeah can blame y’all. We have took the skis there the pass few years in a row. We finally had the chance to take the Jetski’s & a few boats to Abaco. Stood in Treasure Cay for a week. Of cost this was a few months before the hurricane destroyed most of the areas we visited. So so sad Billy D

Billy Duplessis very sad. We went to Abaco last year (by plane) and it’s a beautiful set of islands. So sad what happened

This is awesome! Would you make the trip in a 21' Yamaha jet boat?
@alexflorida95444 жыл бұрын
The weather would have to be absolutely perfect and have at least another boat crossing with you. If you check out Out On The Reef on KZbin he’s done it many times in his Yamaha jet boat center console. Last time I crossed back we had glass, smooth seas when we departed Bimini until about 25 miles from Ft Lauderdale where it went to 4-6 feet in minutes and was a rough ride until we got into the ICW. Don’t underestimate how quickly conditions can change in the Gulf Stream.

Great trip, where were you anchored and doing your drown footage? I'm planning a solo trip for the first time and need some tips...
@alexflorida95445 жыл бұрын
Thanks. The drone footage was at honeymoon harbor. It’s about 15 minutes south of mainland Bimini. Just make sure to pick your weather window carefully - have all your safety gear including EPIRB or PLB. I’m sure you’ve been following the search for the 2 port Canaveral modding boaters who unfortunately didn’t have one on the boat

Didn't you have a Whaler?

Amazing going there. Flat calm. We only got rain in the morning one of the days. On the way home was 2-3 feet which was no problem. We just love the Bahamas. Still underdeveloped and a pleasure to cruise around

Amazing trip Alex. Do you like the Cobia better than the Boston Whaler?
@alexflorida95445 жыл бұрын
Angel Nigaglioni yes much better! It has a much better ride in chop, doesn’t beat you up like the BW.

Alex Saltlife Thank you for letting me know. I’m glad I didn’t buy the vantage.
@alexflorida95445 жыл бұрын
Angel Nigaglioni the vantage is a nice family boat better suited to lakes and coastal cruising not for offshore fishing that we enjoy to do

How long does it take to get over there? Mph?
@alexflorida95445 жыл бұрын
All depends on weather conditions. This trip took about 1.5 hrs. It was flat calm and we cruised at maybe 35mph at great fuel economy. My previous video in 2017 took almost 5 hours because seas were 4-5 feet and we couldn’t go very fast

Oh that’s too bad! I went with my dad and we fished all day on north side around Isaacs Cay. I bet you were at honeymoon? Darn next time. It was really quiet in Bimini, seas were perfect though we did hit rough weather 20 miles out from Lauderdale on Sunday when returning home
@OutOnTheReef5 жыл бұрын
@@alexflorida9544 wow I was thinking of going to Great Isaac but I decided not to because of weather I was planning to come back on Sunday but I wanted to stay one extra day so I came back on Monday and the Seas was kind of rough on Mondays to I saw swells 6 to 8 ft

Out On The Reef yes I am just uploading the video right now. We trolled a lot for wahoo but we only caught barracudas on the troll. We caught a lot of yellowtail, triggers and sharks of course on bottom fishing. We didn’t get the fish I wanted but was a lot of fun. Saturday was a bit rough around Isaacs but Sunday was flat calm. I’ll try again thanksgiving weekend if weather is nice. Love that island! It’s too bad we didn’t run into each other. Next time!
