Would be nice to have a Flitetest "dealer" here in Europe too, and lastly thank you sooooo much that you have in your inventory the DTHB for shipping overseas too, I definitely will order some boxes. Unfortunately the shipping is to much to order speed build kits one-by-one, but will support you as I can. Many-many thanks and keep up the super cool job.

Good video !!! I watched it for fun & to see if maybe I could pick up a few building tips because I started scratch building a few years ago with foam board. I want to say how nice it was to see you promoting the hobby & good building practice with up & coming pilots (your son?) it reminded me back when I owned & operated my Hobby Shop(late 80's thru mid 90's) my wife and I started building class's on Tues & Thurs we had a lot of people sign up for those class's both mom & dad with the kids it was a very satisfying part of the business and I do miss ( wish we had your kits back then) we also held R/C car races at the roller rink in the winter time NE Ohio winters can be such a bummer!!! sorry I got side tracked lol!! But I was blown away by the speed & maneuverability of this little plane!!!!I might just have to buy one for this winter building season!!!! Great video &Thanks for the time and effort to make,edit & post these video's

I've been building your planes for almost 2 years now, and I love the designs, and that with flat foamboard you create really good airfoils. I've built the larger: FT Flyer, Bloody Wonder (gotta build that baron still), FT delta, Versa Wing, and Tiny Trainer. This new design looks to me like it will be a new favorite. I like that it has a very strong nose, 1 piece wing, pusher prop, and I especially like the size of motor it's built around. This plane is amazing, I even watched the last video of it flying with my friend, and now he wants to make one too.

I love the foam board method of building, so much easier than balsa! I'll be buying some supplies, and speed build kits in the near future for sure. And what's the Twin Boom in the window at the end of the video? Next project? Looks interesting!! LOL Thanks Josh!

So, I've just binged watched all of your videos over the last couple of weeks. I've been inspired to try building and flying. While the fast build kits are available in Canada, and I will be purchasing through Great Hobbies, I would love to see one of your simpler designs be build from plans instead of a quick build kit, just to show us how it's done.

This is the first plane I downloaded the plans for and I noticed a discrepancy. +Szilard B location on plans is correct.
@szilardb95649 жыл бұрын
+reseth Hmmm....I measured myself from the leading edge (where you make the double bevel, where the wing folds in two) the sign of CG and it is 40 something mm on the plans. In the article and as I see Josh is showing also further back the CG (closer to the "trailing edge" of the lover part of wing) So IMO, still not good, not on website nor on plans. I have sett CG at 69 mm and flys like a bird, 23% throttle and cruising around without loosing height :-)

@reseth9 жыл бұрын
Just maidened mine :-) using 1,75" CG, little bit tail heavy balanced but it seems to fly fine even with aprox. 50g of lead in nose. Will try to tinker with CG location later. I guess design is very tolerant so even tail heavy plane is flyable.

Looks a lively little model. Congratulations. Pity the materials (paper backed foam) seems hard to source in the UK. Just a couple of points: 1: When I glue servos in place on small models I wrap them in paper masking tape first. It makes them easier to remove and doesn't damage them. I know 5gm servos are cheap as chips these days so it's probably not as important as a few years back when they weren't. I usually fix receivers, which don't need to be as rigid, with sticky Velcro. Also not a good idea to stick the antenna out the bottom of a fuselage with no undercarriage. It can be inside anyway with a foam structure. 2: You refer to the tail controls as elevons. It's actually a V-tail and the two control surfaces are two halves of a rudder. Elevons are set up exactly as ailerons ie not the way you set up yours (as a rudder)

In the previous video it looked like at least some of the sparrows had ailerons. This video shows a 3 channel plane with just the throttle and v-tail. Is there going to be a variant of the plans for an aileron wing, or as that something builders will have to design themselves? Also, would the three channel version make a good trainer, or would it make more sense to go with something like the Tiny Trainer?
@rcbif1019 жыл бұрын
the roll rates they had in the video did suggest ailerons, but I couldnt get a good view.

At 5: 36, 6: 35 and 7: 32 of that video you can clearly see ailerons and servos in three of the sparrows. I don't know why this video wouldn't include instructions for adding them if wanted..
@wlouisharris9 жыл бұрын
+Michael Semenas It seems like it would be complicated to program with ailerons. I have not programmed ailevons or whatever you call them. I'm curious to build this just to figure out how to program my dx6i.
@MrDRSMAX9 жыл бұрын
+vista7 you would have normal ailerons with a standard v-tail
@michaelsemenas63469 жыл бұрын
+vista7 Actually it's not that hard in the 6i (but it's easier in the 6). If you don't put the ailerons on you program the tail just like you would on a flying wing. (Elevons) if you do put the ailerons on you program the tail as a v-tail and the ailerons just like you would for a normal plane.

I think I would stick with swappable and try to make the holding off the power pod a bit bigger from the outside

Peter and the Flitetest crew Please Make a Sukhoi PAK-FA T-50 Twin EDF! Or a Sukhoi SU-30MKI with working Canards! And make plans for them and sell the KIT on Flitetest store!! That would be the most awesome thing ever! Thanks! :)

a "normal" plane prop spins counter clockwise. So when you say this is a "conventional" prop i would thing you meant normal. Clockwise is not a normal prop spin right?
@1PriceIT9 жыл бұрын
+Nathan Knight It is spinning counter-clockwise - it's a pusher, yet still view it from the nose prospective. Hence the props writing always facing the nose.
