one of the main things im afraid of with rff is forearm strength specifically during weightlifting. do you notice any imbalances or weakness now that youre healed? also, how do you deal with sensitivity on your graft site?

I don’t have any issues with weightlifting. I did 6 months of hand therapy and my therapist helped me get my grip strength back and actually even better than average. My surgeon had me start hand therapy like a week post op. You gotta start as soon as possible so you can prevent scar tissue from forming and tightening everything up. It’s okay if it does, it’s just more painful and takes longer to work through.

Also the sensitivity on my graft isn’t as bad (hypersensitive) as it was in the beginning. I’m so used to it now I forget I have a scar unless I see it.

You can definitely have surgery at any age, but as is the case with any surgery, the risks of complications and slower healing/longer recovery increases with age. With this kind of surgery, it’s very important to follow any and all pre-op and post-operative care and instructions from the surgeon. The healthier an individual, the better chance of a good outcome. 😊

For me my biggest question is about the results. I have been looking through countless I,ages, and some results look horrible. I mean one guy literally looked like he had a chipotle burrito in between his legs, and I really don’t want to get one if I’m at a similar risk. Is there a place I can look at good results? Or where can I go to find a good surgeon?

Check out Dr. Chen’s website. He has on table results. He definitely doesn’t have all of his best results up because I saw other guys’ results before I got my surgery and they looked very realistic and beautiful. But they were on Transbucket. I’m VERY happy with my aesthetics. 👍🏽 gurecon.com

I mean, I’m kinda clumsy but yes I can run and play sports. Once everything was fully healed I got right back into my fitness regimen. Also, I wear a cup if I’m playing contact sports. It really hurts to get kicked there. 😅
