This could potentially be very very rude of me, but we're all here to learn so please bear with me. is it rude to like one alter more than others
@smStarryNite4 жыл бұрын
pvic I mean it’s like liking someone’s sibling more than the other one or liking a friend more than the others. As long as you’re not begging to talk to that one alter or visibly showing you’re not interested or attentive to the alter fronting, I think it’s all good. DissociaDID explains it in one of their livestream vids I believe.
@pvic69594 жыл бұрын
@dr feel nahh i wasnt accusing of anyone doing that. This comment just triggered that thought. I'm not saying anyone likes one alter more than the other. But I could see some alters rubbing people the wrong way while other alters dont. Like one of the said, its like having 12 people in 1 body. The “we have did!” melted my heart😭❤️ As a teen who was diagnosed with dissociation at either 7-8 I can relate to this a lot, and for some reason it means a lot to see someone with kind of the same as me dissociate and have an alter come to the front cause it makes me feel less alone. I have a lot of alters, but I have one that I’d like to specifically mention; her name is Bella and she’s six, and she thinks Nin is very pretty :) Edit: Bella is now Seven, her birthday was a week ago lol

The really scary thing about DID and it being more common than most people think it is, is that so many people faced that level of trauma in their childhoods. The real monsters are the people who hurt them, and there are so many of them out there. 😞

NO ONE IS TALKING ABOUT ANTONY’S VOICE WITH THE LITTLE ALTER!!! His voice pitch went slightly up at the end, THE WAY WE DO WITH CHILDREN, he literally just went ‘yes this is a child’ almost unconscious, his pitch LITERALLY CHANGED
@Olivia36414 жыл бұрын
Mae M So are you saying that’s a bad thing, or a good thing?
@mkblaineb4 жыл бұрын
Olivia Shanks it’s a good thing! he’s recognizing that this alter is a child and has a childlike state of mind and is being respectful and trying to make them feel comfortable with him. the DissociaDID system is very protective of its littles so the fact that the little’s part was left in just shows that they felt comfortable letting him leave it in because of how he handled the switch
@silentm0th4 жыл бұрын
It's amazing that he is so understanding! This is how you do things and talk to people with mental disorders
@maem45104 жыл бұрын
Olivia Shanks most definitely a good thing! The respect of seeing this alter as a child, not a ‘child-like personality’ is great, there’s a subconscious difference we all have when speaking to a child that we wouldn’t have with say a ‘little’ in the DDLG sense, like why I said, the pitch uptick at the end of his sentences

As someone with OSDD I would like to say that the way Anthony talked to Nin when she was dissociating was great. He didn't yell, try to get her out of it, or make a loud noise, he just made sure she knew she was safe and that she could take a break if needed. This is how you should always treat people who are dissociating as it is often scary and confusing!

@waterdrinker40334 жыл бұрын
@Grayson Land First and formost, thank you for sharing your story, I know it could feel very exposed to share a part of your life like that. However, I think your story could really help some people, like me, so thank you. Your experience wth ASPD made me realise I might suffer from ASPD myself. I never knew what might be wrong with me, but I've always known that either there is something wrong with me or I am just a bad person (,like one of those really boring villains who does bad thing simply because they are bad). I am extremely manipulative and I really want to be "better than that". However, at this point, manipulation is basically on autopilot: I say I don't want to do it but I do it anyway. I'm unsure whether to get help because I don't think I want to admit to anyone irl that I am a "bad" person. I have dip my toes into the pool before, going to a counsellor, because I wanted to change. But I end up making up other issues because I just couldnt get over the fact that I was gonna expose myself to someone irl that I do bad stuff to people, it's illogical and it's actually really scary. But my current state is really exhausting because a large part of me thinks I need to change and I need to be a better person, but there is also another part of me just don't see the point of changing. It doesn't really hurt me, a lot of times it doesn't really hurt anyone (they don't think they are being exploited, I make sure that they think they are the ones who wanted to offer me, their friend, the "help", they think they are doing a good thing, they feel good, I get what I want out of it, there is no tangible downside to it). just saying that alone makes me think I am a bad person and maybe I should change -- and the cycle continue. I want this feeling to end. This exhuasing, confusing and scary feeling. I wish your comment can be the answer to my confusion. But I know it isn't. I will have to get over myself and get real help eventually. As of now I don't think I am ready...

Vegan Pete what “risks” are there? Because people with DID are never inherently dangerous people. That’s not what the disorder does. shahely S EXACTLY! When the little started crying and saying they don’t feel alone anymore, I teared up. It’s nice that Nin was comfortable sharing that footage

This should be shown to students instead of Split, you can see someone switching in real time, how they completely change their face, gestures, vocabulary, voice and accent. This is priceless.
@DelaneyWalker4 жыл бұрын
100%!! Split is horrible for learning about DID
@Astralaeyna4 жыл бұрын
In my High School, Split wasn't a thing at the time. Instead we saw Sybil. Which I have no idea how much better that movie might be, it's still Hollywood and they tend to over exaggerate for entertainment purposes rather than education purposes. But totally agree schools should show this instead.
@LukeZwarteVacht4 жыл бұрын
They're showing Split in schools? Why? It's a fucking horror film! It's for entertainment, not teaching!
@rxxrcousin4 жыл бұрын
I didn't pay attention to the gestures and vocabulary changes at first, but I went back and rewatched it to learn more after reading your comment!
@ariannarichardson77134 жыл бұрын
YES!!! in my psychology class watched Sybil and it was horrible!! (And then my teacher would make comments like "isn't this weird" and "this is a great way to get out of murderer, just claim it may have been your body but it wasn't your personality, and you'll be fine!!" (My mom has D.I.D, i almost punched my teacher in the face)

You can definitely tell when a different alter is talking, Nin has a more medium pitch, Kyle lower as well as Essex british, and the Little speaks in a higher, softer pitch
