FTX Outback Gladius Pre-run inspection and it was needed

WOw that's crazy no grease!! what the heck are they thinking! lucky you had to take it apart imagine if you just ran it all the time not knowing!

It was funny some places grease and then none. The crown wheel the worse place to be dry and one portal. I will have a look at the gearbox but that will be a job to get out, so much to undo.

An inspection is always very useful before the first test, this avoids future problems at the time of the test. Really nice rc 👍

I can say never had one this bad for grease. But it's a nice truck even after all the time required to make it right.

I have been running into this no grease problem often lately nice the bead locks are real

It was a shock, the Fury was not like this at all so much be made is a different factory. The beadlocks a real bit of luck, no heating the tyres off this time.

Good job. What I like or impresses me most are the beadlocks. Even the big players haven't these.

I was pleased Dirk when I found the beadlocks, the FTX Fury said Beadlock style and they were glued. That's why I thought they were glued in the unboxing video. But now to change the wheels has got so much easier. The big companies still glue and traxxas still do what a shame as their tyres are good.

Pretty nuts the grease thing thought the was a wltoys vid for a sec. Haha. Good that ya looked.. great vid Malcom. Looking forward to thoughts after running a bit.. The old servo switch haha I do that all the time. Looks good

Mine came with no grease in any of theportals and nothing in diffs either. It is a great machine though for the money 👍

The grease is hit and miss. Some have said no issues with theirs, mine was bad even in the gearbox. But they are great for the money and fun to start modifying.

The grease, never had one like this. The diff check was a result. FTX is hard to get in the US, but others makes must have a version.

The wheels and tyres are exactly the same as the ones on my Roc Hobby Mashigan. I've already changed the wheels to metal ones and I'm using the original tyres on them as you suggested in this video. Very easy swap over to do. Strangely enough the Mashigan's axles, gearbox and transfer case has absolutely no grease whatsoever either. All the gears are bone dry from the factory. Makes you think eh. I've emailed you some photos of my wheels 🙂👍🏼

I have the gearbox still to do, but the grease they did use was that white lithium that I do not Like at all. Cannot beat the marine grease.

ps. The tread on the outside edge of the tyres is directional Mal, and I think you may have your wheels on the wrong way round at the end of this video. (Not a criticism, just an observation mate 👍🏼)

It seems like the grease issue is becoming more mainstream across several companies. Hopefully this will get fixed soon, like you said you should have to strip it down if it’s a RTR car!

It's a real pain on this truck, being a little complex it takes time to strip it down and put it back together. But I'm hearing it a lot the lack of grease.
