Typically I’d agree with Gil but I think this exact situation is different this year bc they still play two veteran guards in DJ and EG neither of which are better than Wall. (EG should be protected for a trade collateral) So in this situation it should be evaluated as 1 JG has always played alongside a PG from high school until the Ignite (Bobby brown/J.Jack) 2. KPJ is being forced into a PG role and the reality is yes he’s similar to Harden but by the time Harden reached the Rockets he’s much older and played alongside other superstars/all stars plus this was a role he done through two years of college. Honestly JG and KPJ at competitors and you’ll get more out of them being competitive and winning some games than just letting them get ran. JG is a sponge. KPJ is just God gifted. Then for those who think “we’ll they’re tryna tank” playing Wall still fits that bc he’s not gonna play a whole season (load management) and teams are not going to take him lightly so now those L’s look better in draft race.

Frankly speaking, they shouldn't have traded him in the first place. They got hot to close the season, but they weren't exactly a good team last year with Russ. And, Beal didn't step up much as a leader. Probably would've been in similar standing, as a play-in level team, with Wall. And, if Beal wanted out, then, a trade for him (which still seems inevitable) would've netted a bigger return than what they got for Russ
@NothingElseMattersJM2 жыл бұрын
@@Joe_Parmesan Wall isn’t Westbrook bad from outside but he’s still mediocre. I’ll give him credit for being willing to take them though. He still can produce for teams as a two way player who gets others involved, finishes at the rim and plays great man and pick/roll defense but as a 3-5th option instead of the 1st- 2nd option he was in Washington with Beal.The biggest thing keeping teams from signing him are his contract and his injuries. He’s averaging under 40 games a season in the last 3 years and slashing guards tend to decline faster than shooting ones.

John Wall needs to get bought out and go to the Bucks, Clippers, or Jazz. That’s if his main goal is to win. If he just wants to get on the court it doesn’t matter where. Right team is going to pick him up & he’s going to shine.

If he is to be traded this season, Denver would make a lot of sense. If a trade happens in the offseason, then he would have more options.

Same thing happen to Al Horford. He got caught in the OKC re shuffle. Like Gilbert said, continue to train and wait to be traded. No one wants pay his enormous salary when he worth only 8 to 10 million a year.

With OKC having a lot of draft picks in the years to come, they can pull a John Wall trade for veteran leadership while they're rebuilding.
