It doesn’t surprise me at all that he stresses that to his kids…..he knows the importance of structure with kids, especially today…..forming good habits, being around different types of kids. P was an athlete and in the music business, it’s a lot of protocol.

When P says that he wanted his son to go to LSU and that attending an HBCU puts him at a disadvantage, he is right and that highlights the fallacy of civil rights legislation. It allows white institutions to come in and take the best resources (human or otherwise) from black communities and institutions to strengthen and enhance white institutions and communities. Blacks benefited individually (some got a little more money, others got the opportunity to try out for the Rebels or Crimson Tide) but whites benefited institutionally - theirs is stronger than ever, but black institutions are barren undesirable even to blacks.
