Fuchsia Flower Watercolor Painting Tutorial - Wet on Wet Techniques

Enjoy this step by step watercolour tutorial of a pink fuchsia flower - a perfect subject for this time of year. The idea for this watercolor tutorial was to concentrate on using wet in wet techniques, painting in just one layer and simply having fun with the watercolors. The fuchsia flower is composed of a few clearly defined shapes and some leaves on the background. In the end I added two more leaves painted in darker shades of green and indigo to add more depth.
For this watercolor tutorial I used a limited palette of colors from the White Nights brand.
The main colors I used are:
• Lilac Mist (White Nights granulating colors range)
• Violet
• Carmine
• Violet Rose
• Green
• Azomethine
• Indigo Blue
The White Nights brand watercolors are fantastic for this project because their colors are so bright and intense. Also when painting wet in wet these watercolors create wonderful effects on the paper.
