@@punamsherpa7670 what I could deduct from reading the story is that, this story rather than having a moral, depicts one of the faults in mordern society. Our present society had forgotten the value of art and "Quality" and rather focuses on efficiency and quantity. Because of this true artist are slowly fading away or are being over-shadowed by the huge firms, as narrated in the story. The main theme of the story is the death of an artist. In the year 1999, I was in class 11th ISC Board...There in my English literature this story I read...This is one of my favorite stories. Another one that was my favorite was Jimmy Valentine. Both r still there in my Mind. I also studied Hamlet. That too is my favourite.

I remember the impression this chapter had on me back in grade 7 or 8 I can’t rmbr and I thought to myself this has to be the most hard hitting chapter I’ve ever studied until now.
