I'd argue against the whole thing about the Daughter not being Fancy's responsibility; when you join the Force, you swear to serve and protect all who need and require it, not just whoever the Higher Ups say need it, that's what reassures the Public that the Police actually care about the Community and aren't just some Corporate Fatcat's Personal Bodyguards simply because Lord Whathisface is a mate of the Chief Constable.

As a six year old Z Cars was part of my TV diet along with Rag, Tag and Bobtail and Tales of the Riverbank! I was born a few miles from Brian Blessed and in the way you get things mixed up as a child I thought my mum said she taught him at Mexborough Grammar School. This wasn’t in fact the case but he did know a friend of my mum’s who was one of my younger sister’s god mothers as she was wardrobe mistress at the amateur dramatics group of which Brian Blessed was a member. He mentioned her in his autobiography.

The ending was a bit disappointing: there was obviously something going on between her and her parents, and Dench’s character had potential that Smith could see. I get that once people start to go down the wrong path they often get stuck in the wrong place in life, but the title, ‘Made for Each Other’, was just not right. Maybe it’s because Dench is such a fabulous actress that I feel this way. I just found the ending lacking.

Judi Dench - born in 1934 - making her nearly 30 at the time of this episode, yet looks every bit a teenager

12:45 onward... after all that running, they are not breathing heavily? honestly, I'm 64, I do remember watching these as a kid, and am trying to re-enjoy them now.... but the dialog, the acting... everything really, is just pathetic
