Didn't even think about the ground.....this thing has done a lot of water crossings in the past😊 Found the same issue with my compressor. Great vid. Thanks!🎉🎉

Very good pointers and insight, will be referring to this video again in the coming months. I picked up a 1970 Ranchero as a project for my second channel and replaced the sending unit, only to have my gas gauge stop working about a month later. xD

Well I put on a new sending unit, haven't replaced the wiring harness, didn't check ground and also the regulator, don't have an aux tank. As mine seems to work sometimes and then it doesn't. So I always question my fuel as well. You gave me a few things to check Jon. Thanks Doug

Great information and diagrams...as a newbie it's alot of information to process in one viewing but I'll simply rewatch this until it's second nature. Will you be continuing to add more Bronco Basics instructional videos? I haven't seen a video posted from you for 6 months. Hope you're OK and still with us.

Great tutorial. A note on checking the regulator - if you have an old-school or cheapo analog volt meter it's a bit easier to see the output. DVOMs flash and you have to kinda "guess" the average but they still work. I'm gradually getting my '68 built... maybe someday! Until then I live vicariously through videos like yours! 😆
@NashvilleEarlyBronco2 жыл бұрын
Haha nice! Yeah, an analog volt meter would have been better

Love this channel! Thanks for making these videos. It's given me a much needed push to get going on my 69 Bronco project that I've let sit idle in my garage for far too long!

I went through this about 4 months ago. Tested everything and all check good except sending unit. So replaced it and the fuel pump after getting 23 gallon tank cleaned at radiator shop. Tank was completely filthy after only 13 years or so.

Dude, great info.......I could have used a year ago before selling my rig! Haha. My Bronk came with a new painless, but I then removed the aux tank and put i. The Sherman. Gauge NEVER worked right, no matter what I did.....this was probably it. Hope the next guy figured it out

Did all of this but my main tank still dose not read. And the front tank only says 3/4 full. I think it has something to do with my tank toggle switch. Great video though. And I start on my dash and new wiring harness next weekend. 😩

Haha! Thank you. I troubleshot it myself. I read a couple articles on Classic Broncos and made my list of things to check... then I was scratching my head at the end of the list thinking, “what else is there!?!”

Another great video! I did the tank with internal fuel pump a few years ago along with an EFI conversion. Question - how did you handle the extra outlet nipples? Do you have a carbon canister? If so, can you share any details on that or if you just plugged the extra outlets? Thanks -Dwayne
@NashvilleEarlyBronco2 жыл бұрын
I removed the charcoal canister but left the lines hooked up. So it acts as a tube now
@dwaynedabbs31532 жыл бұрын
Wow, sounds like an easy solution. So, you have a ‘venting’ tube from the gas tank into the intake system via the air cleaner or EFI body? No issues with raw fuel smell in the garage if you have full tank of gas? Thanks!!

I solve the problem of regulator : 6 new gauges, working from 10 to 16v. No need regulator. The hardest was to find a modern fuel gauge 10-74 ohms. 30 USD and work great.
