Removing the Bed Liner to get to the Truck Bed ! Cutting out the Bed to get to the Fuel Pump - hey - Wires are off and soldered them back on - Fuel Gauge is working - maybe more soldering to do - You are very Experienced indeed getting Things Fixed ! Try lifting the back center of the bed liner first. The left and right side will come away from the sides, and then pull. I find this way the easiest when taking out the liner for repairs.

cutting the bed was way less painful in the long run the fuel pump in my Subaru lasted 300 000 thousand miles just had to lift the back seat and 10 minutes i was done gotta love it

I hate bedliners extra weight can’t wash the crap out from under it . Holds the moisture , hard to clean all those ribs out , the thing moves around . I use a sheet of plywood , you can remove it in seconds easyer to use a flat shovel on , when you wash it you get everything 👍🇨🇦

I told you about cutting a hole did the same damn thing . Cut a peice of deck from another truck bigger than your hole and rivet into place so you can access it again . Don’t be drilling holes in the gas tank . Did that mistake too . Don’t weld it so you can use the access point again . Toss the Berliner . Damn I’m bossy . Great job on getting it running, that’s all that really counts 👍🇨🇦

I bought a Dodge pickup truck once and the back had a box line or in it. It was all full of crap and when I pulled the crap out of the back and there was a sheet of plywood on the floor. The guy who had it before instead of pulling the box line it was just sitting there with no screws. They cut a hole through the box liner and through the floor to do the fuel pump. I couldn't believe it.👍👍🙂🇨🇦

Ordinary Petroleum jelly would do as flux (no kidding!) just clean the contacts before soldering them together, and as you say, Japanese OEM fuel pumps usually last forever, so you might get away with just fixing the wires. And yeah put a whole lot of silicone on top of it.

On my obs gmc I drilled holes through the bed and captive nuts and added long bolts that go through to the bottom of the frame. Easy access on the bottom now to impact or cut them off.

Dont drive any vehicle with engine management light on you dont know the damage you can do that tank has cover missing protecting the wiring I thought you would solder the wires just to see if it would start well done bert ✌🔧

yeah the sending unit i was like man still need to change it.hmm could see what the new one looks like maybe the wires and loop ends on them and have new nuts crimp then new ends on them.hard to tell what they looked like years ago.its just a guess.

Hi yah Scrappy Now I remember why my brother took off the well body on his Nissan Ute n put a tray back on it, besides the rusted chassy ,tray the petrol tank was rusted where mater could lay (fresh n salt water) canot remember if he got it welded or he got a second hand one from the car wreckers all the bolts holding tank will be rusted in. Okay this is one hillbilly to another one I know you're not a hillbilly but anyways get you a wire brush on a Dremel and go in there slowly clean up everything in there with the wire brush to know exactly what you have all the way around the sending unit vacuum it out and clean it until you can't clean no more then look around your farm I'm sure you got an old truck bed somewhere that you should be able to cut a larger plate out of the bed and then put that back in as far as the crossmember you should be able to do that by tacking it on from underneath with the mig gun but anyways it's easy for me to tell you what I would do but I'm not there I don't really see what you see so bless you on whatever you decide

@@johnkudera9707 I don't know about that any time I've ever seen anyone do that they've put a dip tube in the tank is the tank or deleted the fuel pump... I don't think an inline pump really has a lot of suction.. Have you ever actually tried it or are you just suggesting it?

@@ScrapFarm I have an electric pump in line on my boat 's small diesel for emergencies, and use the mechanical pump as primary. It has been in line for many years without a problem, it's worth a try, but try and find an old Stewart Warner pump.
