Thanks for the video, very helpful. FWIW I didn't bother with removing the brake vac line or the CVV vac line. It did piss a lot of fuel over the alternator though when I removed the old sensor, if I was to do over I'd put a container there and a rag to try not to pour quite so much everywhere.

Hello OEM Denied, My 2007 Focus XR5 Turbo currently has a check engine light. I've scanned for codes, and I got codes for ignition coils on all 5 cylinders (twice), as well as P0190 and P0193 (intermittent)... My car is running perfectly, however I have had a few strange electrical gremlins lately, and last time I went to start it, it didn't turn over the first time... Is the car cutting acceleration and a loss of boost symptoms of a faulty fuel pressure sensor? I've got P0190 and P0193 coming up intermittently, as well as coils on all 5 cylinders throwing up codes... In addition, my car is making a very strange whining noise on boost, and also sometimes cuts power... I believe my car is tuned...

yes, replace the sensor. Check wiring to ignition coils whilst you are there - might have 2 separate faults.
@MartinJones1237 ай бұрын
@@OEMDeniedPerformance So, the codes on all 5 cylinders and P0193 are related to the fuel pressure sensor, and the whining noise from the turbo (potentially failing) isn't making the car cut power?

It may, but low battery voltage can also cause rich running as can air leaks or dirty injectors. (low voltage gives low fuel pressure which causes injectors to dribble rather than spray, same with dirty injectors - petrol burns as a vapour not a liquid)

I believe that the S-max uses the same fuel system as the Mondeo and has its own dedicated fuel pump module controller like the Volvos. I would lean more towards that due to the DTCs you've got. @@mattp9067 yes can do. To confirm or deny a FRP sensor fault firstly read the stored DTCs, then look at what the live reading is from the ECU for the fuel rail pressure. Many things can cause missfires so it is best to diagnose the fault properly rather than changing parts based on symptoms alone.

Couldn’t have done it without this tutorial but can I give anyone any advice when switching a new one in is to go for genuine ‘Genuine’ Volvo Bosch part 0261 230 110. I bought a similar one to the one in the video and it leaked, tried reseating it a couple of times and still leaked, put the old faulty one back on and no issues. OE quality parts isn’t the same as OEM parts, buy genuine that’s my advice, but maybe I got unlucky with my OE part who’s knows. Don’t buy cheap buy right
@OEMDeniedPerformance3 жыл бұрын
I'm afraid you have you wires crossed in the meaning of things mate. Part number 0261230238 is not a Volvo part number. It is a Bosch part number. The Genuine Volvo part number is 31272732 & 31251447 OE and OEM are not the same thing. An example of an OE version of this part would be a Goss branded sensor. It is of OE quality but they are not the Original Equipment of Manufacturer. Bosch is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) so it is the same part that you buy from Volvo or Ford without coming in a Volvo or Ford box. Sounds like you just had an faulty replacement sensor which you should be able to get get replaced from your supplier or caught the O ring during install.
