Did you sell your Mustangs after all? I just started mine this past year, hadn’t used it since the pandemic, Feb. 2020 ‘cuz of the Ford PATS crapping out. Finally fixed that last July. But now It’s starting to like misfire, and I get this code too, and like 5 other codes related to the gas cap and/or fuel issues. My wife wants me to get rid of it, since it needs a looooot of work, and a looooot of restoration. Also a new top since it’s convertible. New front tires since they’re from around 2017 dry rotted and wires starting to show up along the inside, since it’s slammed from the front - the lowering springs and the SR ball joints lowered it waaay too much! LoL I can’t sell it, I cannot get rid of it!!!! It’s also not worth any $ due to all the work it needs and the high mileage it has. It’s worth more to me than all the $ in the world!!! But it is frustrating!!!

I found another simple trick, to lower the Static fuel line pressure …while changing this exact sensor, or your (In-line Fuel Filter) near the frame rail! Unplug your (Fuel Pump Relay) in your electrical control box. You can then crank the car and the injectors will bleed off the fuel pressure …it may even run for a little bit , and stop. Shut off your ignition, After your complete your task, just reinstall your (Fuel Pump Relay), when you’re finished.

you are the one I will follow now, I have 3 mustangs came in with crank no start, 94, 02 and 05, all of them crank but no start, has sparks, and fuel rail does have pressure, it shows 45 psi on the 05 mustang we check today, but it just keep cranking will not start, I should check the fuel rail pressure sensor. thanks for the video. we work on import cars only, and my friends just bring in his mustangs with no start condition, hope that is going to be fun tomorrow.

Hi I came across this video my car starts runs and drives just fine but I have excessively high fuel pressure 65 psi while idling, I also am chasing a short and long fuel trim problem my obd2 scanner says that Shrtf12 and Shrtf22 is almost maxed out at 99.2 and long term fuel trims are holding at 10.9. Does this look like a fuel pressure sensor problem?

Thanks for this video, how ever just a heads up I believe 04 GTs are not equipped with a Schrader valve I am currently tackling my FRPS and cannot locate mine on either rails ..should hitting the switch in back of trunk help assist on the fuel pressure through the rails??
@dannyjohnsonsgarage2 жыл бұрын
You are correct, no shrader valve on the rail for 2004 GT, and the inertia switch in the trunk or pulling the fuel pump fuse then starting the car should work
Please tell me what make, model and year of this vehicle. I’m having problems making sure which part is correct for my 8 cylinder 2004 mountaineer AWD. Ford says it’s one kind and sent me a picture of it and an auto parts store sold me a different one (like the one in this video). I checked on line with a different auto parts store and it said that the one Ford says it should be “will not fit your vehicle” and it shows the one that I already have

I replaced my FRPS today (05/16/2022) in my 02 GT but I'm not sure it fixed my problem since I did get a couple of 50 PSI readings on the scantool but most readings were around 40 PSI. I did get a P0193 code with the old sensor though. A fuel pressure gauge showed 32 PSI with the engine running. I did notice that in some of my live data reports that fuel pressure was down around 10 PSI a few times also. Anyway, I'll have to drive around for a few days to see what kind of readings I get but I think I still have some other fuel problems (maybe fuel injectors). I put some fuel injector cleaner in the tank. I just replaced the fuel pump last week (it was definitely bad). Hopefully I won't have to replace any injectors. Kinda strange that so many things have gone bad at the same time.

I’m having extremely similar issues right now and i’m wondering if you ever got it fixed and what you did to fix it. the only other thing i’m getting that you’re not is a misfire but i replaced all of the coil packs and spark plugs and it didn’t seem to help

@@genericdude6551 so the frps worked out for you?
@genericdude65515 ай бұрын
@@prodzilla7101 No. I replaced the FRPS a couple of years ago but I forgot to note the manufacturer. I'm thinking that it isn't Motocraft. I probably should have replaced it with a Motorcraft FRPS. I recently replaced a bad fuel pump and it's usually 40 PSI +/-2 but my scan tool just logged the pressure as high as 55 PSI. The fuel filter was replaced also. The car starts up right away though. But I'll probably spend the bucks for another FRPS and make sure that it's Motorcraft. I can't imagine that there's a problem with the fuel rail or injectors. I'm not a professional so I sometimes have to guess at what is causing my problems. But I have been considering upgrading the injectors to 24 lb since the new fuel pump is rated for 340 LPH and I installed a flexfuel kit so that I can run up to E85.

Danny , my 01 cobra cranks and won’t start BUT sometimes it will start and stall after a few seconds. I got P0190 code is that the same thing or it’s the fuel pump? The fuel pump makes no noise when I cycle the key. This happened randomly I drove somewhere car drove great went into a store for 5 minutes came out and it happened. What do you think?

That’s also a FRPS code, so it’s very possible. Or a weak pump that’s triggering the FRPS to think it’s bad

@Luis_slides4 ай бұрын
Years late but 01 and up do not have that Schradervalve unfortunately, so one way to test it is by putting a T fitting between the hose that goes to fuel rail and damper. Another way is to use a scan tool to check live data fuel rail pressure and voltage

I would then check the inertia switch in the trunk, fuel pump fuse, and determine if the pump is bad. If you checked it after the car has sat for awhile it may not have pressure, but if you turned the key and even tried starting it, then you should have pressure assuming it’s a stock returnless fuel system. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gKfKfHqAn6aqi5I
@@dannyjohnsonsgarage I unplugged the sensor and the car actually almost fired up. Also with the sensor unplugged it had feul pressure.
