In this video, I'm going to give you my thoughts on the fuel x pro amzn.to/3UjIzKd for your Royal Enfield Himalayan motorcycle. Even though I am not a mechanic, this installation is easy and doesn't require any special tools, so you can be sure it will be a hassle-free experience. I made it hard so you don't have to.
Before you buy the Fuel X Pro, make sure to watch this video to see for yourself to see my review of its performance. I promise you won't regret it! If you have any questions about the fuel x pro in general, be sure to let me know in the comments below! I always answer.
🏍 this is the Fuel X Pro amzn.to/3UjIzKd if you want to check it out for yourself. It is a pretty decent deal IMO.

If you are 1st time...Thanks for watching! What is your biggest question about the Fuel X Pro? amzn.to/3iuccv3 If you already watched my full install and review, this we be deja vu all over again. This is just for the review of the Fuel X Pro portion without the install (which is the longest part!).

The OEM o2 sensor is narrow band. The o2 sensor tells the ecm if the bike is rich, spot on, or lean thousands of times per second. The FuelX-PRO plugs into the Himalayan between the wiring harness and o2 sensor. It draws its power there and reads the o2 sensor signal. Depending on what setting you select FuelX-PRO will modify a percentage of the o2 sensor readings by changing them to lean or rich readings and passing them on to the ecm. The ecm will work within the fuel map parameters set with-in it by the OEM and adjust the signals to the fuel injector. FuelX-PRO tells small enough lies in the correct proportions to the ecm that no trouble codes are triggered. Settings 1 and 2 cause leaner fuel settings. Setting 3 allows the un-modified signal from the o2 sensor to be sent to the ecm, and settings 4 to 10 get the ecm to progressively richen the fuel mix. FuelX-PRO does not per say increase bike horse power as much as it causes it to run smoother and or cooler.

What is the advantage of the Pro over the Lite? On the surface, it would appear that the Lite is fully automatic and works as well as the Pro. I must be missing something.

I fitted the FuelX Pro to my Euro4 Interceptor along with a lot of other performance mods. The FuelX controls the mix for cruising not open throttle acceleration. I fitted the booster plug too for open throttle. I own a Euro5 Himalayan as well and it's totally stock, buying a Himalayan and saying it's slow is like buying a Hayabusa and saying it's no good at off road riding. I can go fast, or go anywhere, just not on the same bike. Excellent channel and I'm enjoying the content. Ride safe

Hey Paul. I appreciate the comments. Working hard and having fun with the channel. Totally with you on the purpose of the Himalayan. I think my need to maintain the speed limit on passes and hills comes from my frustration with tourists in rvs in the Rocky Mountains. I just don’t wanna be that guy. There’s no doubt the Himalayan is in its element once I’m at my destination. I’ve had more fun on this bike than all the others put together in 33 years of riding. It is my first major attempt at trails which makes all the difference. I have no regrets. Thanks again and see you around!

Just put the 83.5mm Weisco pistons in my INT650; now a 750INT (743cc) and an S&S cam so I am adding the fuelX pro. It concerns me that my "750" is getting 74mpg, the first 28,000 miles (at 648cc) it was getting 76mpg; exhaust valves were white/pink when I removed the head for the big bore kit. Anyway, I will be watching your channel because of the concise way you explain the details/info we are searching for.

Thanks for that! Sounds like a super fun upgrade. The FuelX Pro definitely smoothed out the Himalayan. I bet it will help put a bit of refinement on your “new” INT750. Thanks!

The fuel x is great at just making the bike run altogether better but if you sant to get better highway performance yo need to buy a 12 volt 20 amp toggle switch and break the wire underneath the fuseboard that runs into the ABS fuse and run two wires to the switch and put it somewhere discreet but within useful reach when you need highway speeds turn off the ABS and you will see around 90 mph , just turn on the ABS again when you want to leave the highway and go back into town , it horrifies some people just the thought of turning off your pilot aids but most of us never had them until recently anyway and are happy without ABS , but it is pretty handy with some of the funky driving that goes on in the city the motor is digitally restricted by using the brake system to tell the ecu how fast the wheels are turning and therefore how fast the bikes going, turn if off and the ecu has no idea and doesn’t know to cut the fuel 👍

I live in the Andes mountains of Ecuador. I can be riding at 13k feet and then at sea level 3 hours later. It seems as though this is the perfect situation for the FuelX Pro. Would you expect it to be significantly better the the FuelX Lite?
@swcoloradoadventures
@swcoloradoadventures Жыл бұрын
Hello there! I believe the primary difference was the number of maps available for the two. Lite has 1 and the Pro has 10. Though I rarely switch maps in reality so far, your situation is even more extreme than mine. Just to be sure, I would watch a side by side comparison. I did at the time I bought it, but that was a bit ago. On another note…what a great place to live and be able to ride! I can’t imagine all the great place to ride you have. Be safe. Thanks!

@@swcoloradoadventures Thanks for getting back to me. I would love for you to make a video on how to use the FuelX Pro in real world situations. It seems as though nobody on KZbin really understands the practical applications of the device. Even the Race Dynamics website doesn't give any good guidance. It's great that there are multiple maps, but how do I know if I've got the best map selected for any given situation? As I am riding between 13k feet and sea level, what map changes if any should I be making? Shouldn't the O2 sensor be aware of how much oxygen is available and make the proper adjustments? As I ride through South America, one day I can find 98 octane fuel and the next day the best that's available is 87. Should I choose different maps based on the fuel I am using? When I go from slow off road to high-speed highway, does that call for a map change? I guess what I'm looking for, and what I have to believe others are looking for, is how to use this device to always get the best performance out of my bike.

@@TheBigBlueMarble You're right! I wish I had the technical skills to fully and accurately do that. And, it would be nice to know. The goal I set is just to give "seat of the pants" thoughts and observations. Heck, even those are pretty subjective, but I try and be accurate. I found a dealership YT that explained the differences when I was making my choice. I will see if I can dig it up and I will send over the link. I will say that everything I have done has been minimally incremental. Just a little here and a little there. I believe the bike fuel injection does the vast majority of the work on its own. Thanks!

My BS6 has the 477 Big Bore, the Powertronic V4 with calibrated mapping, the HT-b performance cam and the fuelX Pro. I have recently out-raced a 450 Hima up to 80kmh. My top speed still is 125 and that won't change unless I also change the sprockets. Red line is red line. I just get a whole lot faster there.

I bet the only way to extract some top end is to change the cam shaft so that the engine breathes better and going one tooth up on the front sprocket.

@swcoloradoadventures
@swcoloradoadventures Жыл бұрын
Hello, great question! I have not really put a pencil to it formally. But I did not notice a difference either way. So, if it does change it’s minimal. The primary reason I got it was for the Tec cam that I just finally installed. It was their recommendation. It did smooth it out. Stayed tuned for cam thoughts. Thanks!

I haven’t found anyone that has also plugged in a Obd2 scanner, everyone just test rides. I want to see the short term fuel change with each setting. How about it. This can be seen at idle. On the short term fuel trim by adj while viewing, you can also record. No snake oil salesman then.

Hello Vamsi. Thanks for the question! For my purposes it probably would not be the only bike needed. If I really wanted to spend more time on the highway, I would consider a bike with higher displacement. That’s just my opinion though. Thanks for the question!

I have a 2021 Euro5 and as it is getting a few highway kilometers on it, it is breaking down a lot. (13,500km) I enjoyed the bike when new, but I was not aware of the well documented problems the bike has. (Beyond the common complaint of being limited to a 65mph cruising speed). The distinctive tank bars support the headlamp and speedometer assembly. It mounts just above the engine at about a 30 degree angle. All the vibration of the engine follows up the assembly and is amplified at the headlamp, speedometer and directionals. My speedometer vibrated apart internally at 1,300km and one directional broke apart due to vibration at about 2,000km. Both could have been avoided if RE had nit used really thin and cheap plastic. At about 2,000km the bike also began stalling which is a major problem many owners have and has only gotten worse the more I ride it. And the RE dealers are typically unable to fix the problem, nor do they give you any guidance, so you are going to be doing a lot of research and experimentation trying to fix that major problem, if you are unlucky enough to get one of those bikes. My steering head bearings began giving me problems at about 3,000km which is simply due to poor design in that the adjusting nut does not have the usual locking mechanism found on most bikes. Now at 13,500km the transmission is beginning to give me problems shifting. It just went out of warranty and I am told that it will need a transmission rebuild. It tends to lock up between gears and then with enough force it will slowly drop into gear. The bike is also stalling about 80 percent of the time the engine rpm drops down to idle. It will easily stall several times at a traffic light. On a 15 minute ride to town the other day it stalled more than 5 times. Add that to the transmission problems, and I basically have little desire to ride it anymore. The transmission I can fix, but why bother when the stalling is going to only get worse. My advice is to buy something like a Suzuki V-Strom 250SX. It is faster on the highway, more economical, more comfortable, durable and dependable with better quality parts. And you can still load it up with a travel trunk and panniers. If I am able to sell a stalling Himalayan that that has a wandering idle between 1,800 and 1,200 rpm, I will likely replace it with the 250 V-Strom.

Liking something just because you bought it is stupid. As Engineer my point is that the millions bike factory will have more resources and RND to make a great ECU. A few Indians in a garage most likely will create a sham product costing you more money :)))
