I follow Blickhead also. I have about a dozen other motovloggers install the fp3 on their Iron and Blickhead is the only one, that I've seen have any kund of trouble with it. I think he had an air cleaner that is no longer in productiin any more ( I wanted one) and I think he said it was nit in the mod list in the fp3 software. Luke you, I think he didn't have the best mao for his setup. But tech support helped him out, which says a lot about V&H company. I am so glad you got it right the furst time and are happy with the results great bike. I am partial to the Irons myself. Ride safe and enjoy!

I put V&H Short Shots and a high flow air filter on, programmed the appropriate map, and had a lot of misfires. It was pretty frustrating. I ended up having to run it in autotune mode 2-3 times, updating the programming each time. After the 3rd time, it finally ran great. I don't notice a lot of performance differences though, gas mileage is about the same.
@calimilk11132 жыл бұрын

@ansiaaa5 жыл бұрын
I changed the air cleaner on my 883, but I didn't do it myself, I took my bike to the local official dealer. they also did the remapping, but they didn't install anything like this FP3. what's the difference?
@eveythingthatsadam4 жыл бұрын
If the dealer did a dyno on the bike after the air filter install, that is generally the better version of tuning compared to a plug in tuner like the FP3. some of the benefits of a FP3 include being able to read live data from the bike yourself and also if you change any parts in the future you can re flash the ECU again to match the installed parts instead of paying a dealer to do another tune.
@johnnyisahermit4 жыл бұрын
@@eveythingthatsadam Not true, all dealer certified tuning is still lean. they have to tune for emmsions. this tunes for performance. If harley did the map its not as good as what you can get out an fp3

@SLO-Ride8 жыл бұрын
Oh yeah. First start after FP3 install is wonky, because of the new map you dropped in. ECU learns, and adjusts quickly. After I installed mine, I found I could do a rolling burnout, which it never did before, off a stop sign, just riding like before, and scared the shit outta me! Be happy with the new initial performance, but now you can play with better mileage...or not...backfire levels, torque levels, advancing and retarding spark etc. The best thing, is running the "View Sensor Data" mode with the phone in the RAM mount. I show mileage, "eco", gear, and engine temp in the 4 corners, with the center running the RPM's. Now I can watch what the bike does at all times, anywhere. Like I said in the other post, to reset the MAP, you put it in autotune, ride for about 30 miles/minutes, and dump that new info into the MAP and ECU. If you ride hard, it will make the bike run rich for throttle response. If you ride really easy on the power band (like rolling a highway without passing or goosing the gas), and it will lean it out for great mileage. BUT, if you do run it lean, the FP3 will revert instantly to power mode, and advance fuel and spark for heavy performance when you twist the grip....then drop right back to "economy" mode to continue cruising along. Do not run autotune full time. All that does is send conflicting signals to the ECU.
@TheAlienBeard8 жыл бұрын
Hmm.. I had no idea about all of that. Thank you for the help! Ill double check what I am running. Also, how did you keep your fp3 plugged in? I cant seem to find any spot for it to go..

Sirs, I'm considering this for my 15 street bob. If I were to put this in a racing tune, and apply half throttle from a stop the back end would get squirrely? Would the bike get from 0-60 a full second faster or not? I am REALLLLLLY considering this. Any info would be appreciated.

I have a 2007 softail Deuce, it has a fuel pack on it, I got an improvement of 18 to 20 horse power and 22 to 26 ft pounds of torque... BTW if you really want to spice things up, get a Hammer 1250 kit installed with some hotter cams. It’s a game changer. Installed it should cost 3500$ Truly crazy mod: there is a company that makes Hemi heads for Harley-Davidson, they produce insane power... but they are pricey... 3300$ So if you have 7000$ laying around imagine a Sportster with 100 hp.

Its a NARROW BAND tuner which means it may get you in the ball park of a good tune but its nothing like a wide band tune as in a real dyno tune with either O2 sensors or a tail pipe sniffer. Not to mention with this unit your driving it around while its tuning, which means as you ride it could be lean, or rich etc.... On a dyno if you see it running rich or lean you stop immediately , make adjustments and try again. With this its possibly going to cause engine damage while it drives down the road popping, missing and not running right as it "learns" the fuel curve. Cool idea and concept but NOT IDEAL... Not to mention watching these videos it looks like it takes hundreds of miles or more.. silly really IMO
@Biikiiniii5 жыл бұрын
The autotune builds off a stock map for your make and model (and associated aftermarket parts). It doesn't cause your bike to run "worse" as it "learns". It only becomes better. It does not damage the bike in any fashion.
@Biikiiniii5 жыл бұрын
Oh! And most people ride hundred of miles in a day....
@johnnyturbo84605 жыл бұрын
@@Biikiiniii then why have i seen several youtubes of people using it and they say " it pops, back fires, stumbles, runs rough etc..." during the learning process? All that can't be good for it
@johnnyturbo84605 жыл бұрын
@@Biikiiniii i can't say if that's true or not but what's that got to do with it? Hundreds of miles or more is hundreds of miles or more to tune it. No matter if it takes a day or days i think hundreds of miles is silly to tune a bike. Especially a narrow band tune, which as you know is NOT as good as a dyno wide band tune that takes a few dyno pulls and its done
