Made it out of that into a gallbladder problem and almost died 3 more times this year. At 6'2" I went all the way down to 145lbs. @@antmj2335 I’ve learned over the years you can’t think or (dread) tomorrow. When you start even thinking about having to go through it again is when your brain kicks in ans will talk you out of it. You just gotta try and focus on here and now. And then my next advice is find something even if you have to fabricate it yourself of some type of motivation. I’m lucky enough to have plenty of proper throughout my life that treated me like shit, or stabbed me in the back, or just plain thought I wouldn’t be able to amount to anything. I just picture those people and it very much helps me push myself. You can even make stuff up tho. Imagine your dog dying, or someone you don’t like calling you a bitch or just anything really. Focus on that. Not the workout that’s to come.

These two guys have inspired me so much. I let myself go and I've been kinda lost these past few years and I sadly gained a bunch of weight and was at an all-time low in terms of self-esteem. I remember last year just crying after trying to run a route I used to and couldn't even run for five minutes. A year later and I am now running regularly and working out again and I am down about 40 pounds. I haven't arrived yet, I'm now waiting for the call to serve. I feel like I would still be in a dark place if I didn't stumble upon David's book a year ago and Jocko helped me stay disciplined as well. I've never felt so free and driven before. I just want to say for anybody reading this that hard times do pass and things get better but there's no magical solution to it. You HAVE to start and get going, you need to fight out of the dark place you find yourself in. Some days the dark will call back to you and you're going to have shitty days but you have to keep going. We're all going to make it.
