before I tell my Fugazi story, I have to get this out of the way. I LOVE IN ON THE KILL TAKER! in 1991 I worked with Ian's sister at a bookstore in the town next door to Guilford. one day 3 men and a woman came in and I definitely recognized Ian and Guy, but no idea who the other 2 were. Ian asked me if his sister was there. I called upstairs to find out-all the time thinking 'play it cool. don't be an idiot in front of FUGAZI!!' she wasn't in that day, so Ian said "okay, tell her I came by." and they all walked out. I was the only one downstairs, so I couldn't turn to anyone to say, 'HOLY SHIT, THAT WAS FUGAZI!' probably for the best because no one else I worked with would have known who I was talking about.

For me, the greatest band of all time. They’ve been in heavy rotation for me since 1992 (when I was 15). 🧡

I can't argue with you, Nick! They stripped everything non-essential from their music, and what's left behind is pure brilliance. That's why I never get tired of them.

Had the honor of witnessing their live show three times, twice in Omaha Nebraska, and once in Lincoln Nebraska...........truly one of the most amazing live bands..ever. Tight, precise, and loud. Awesome!

Greatest, most important band ever. Nobody is like them. I want to write a screenplay telling their story. Not enough people know.

So true about Waiting Room. Many bands cover it, but when H2O would insert it as the breakdown in Family Tree, everyone would go nuts.

Thank you, my friend! You're so right; they have a perfect catalog of songs. There's no fat on the bone, and no embarrassing left turns or uninspired work. Just blood, sweat and electric energy from start to finish!

This is one of the bands that I can’t pick a favorite one of their albums. Fugazi is THAT good. Although if I had to choose, it would be Repeater, In On The Kill Taker, or Red Medicine
@PopCultureGraveyard3 жыл бұрын
Haha, yeah, I hear ya. For me, it used to change from time to time. But I just keep on coming back to Repeater (no pun intended). Although Red Medicine hits me hard every time I put it on. And In On The Kill Taker has such a subtle infectiousness.... Ugh. I see what you mean. Okay, Repeater, final answer!
@buzzardsinuses47803 жыл бұрын
@@PopCultureGraveyard It’s so bad. I’ll listen through Repeater and think that ones my favorite, but then I’ll go to In On The Kill Taker, and immediately think that one is my favorite. At this point I don’t think I’ll ever choose a favorite.

The best Fugazi album is the one you're listening to! Cliche kind of thing to say but kind of true with this band. My slight winner is probably In On The Kill Taker. Love the quiet and loud throughout the album with so many epic moments. An underrated part of the album is just how well it flows together. Rend It into 23 Beats Off is a real standout in that regard.
@buzzardsinuses47803 жыл бұрын
@@TheHeroAppeared You’re probably right! That album has a lot of great parts to it. They were a talented group of dudes for sure.

A great narrative through their discography 👍 I never completed the journey with them, finding myself gravitating towards their first two EPs and two albums, but after listening to this, I think I'll give their later work another try.

For being a supposed straight edge band, fugazi sure has lots of drug reference/undertones. Idk what to make of all that. Maybe they just try to be a good influence? I dont buy it. Fugazi does mean fake.
