To this day, this is probably one of my top 5 fav music videos ever. The way the storyline shots are cut against the performance shots, the Caribbean scenery, and the moral of the story, it's just so well done. Idk if it's really clear how they acquired that case of money, but the government surely knew and didn't want them to have it 😂. But when they get confronted at the dock, the fact she was willing to give the money up, without much hesitation, so they could escape - after seeing how hard they went to hang on to it - and then it cuts when they jump off the dock, I just love that. As to say money is never worth your life or freedom. Kind of an ironic foreshadowing of Lauryn Hill's career. She saw, early, how corrupt and dangerous the music industry can get, and she was willing to step away at the height of her success to save her life, essentially. Love me some Ms. Hill.
