I’m glad someone’s talking about fugue in regards to her contributions via exo toughness as opposed to personal damage and toughness contribution. She got doom posted quite a lot in beta from what I remember because she didn’t contribute a lot with her EBAs and Ult, even when she’s a perfectly serviceable character as is.

No one doomposted her, ppl just wished she will do more toughness bar to make her be break dps, her ultimate also pretty much do nothing till e2 and she didn't receive any buff, only nerfs in v4 and 5, only good thing what happened to her was colourless break in v3, what sealed the deal, if she stayed at v2, she would be pretty meh outside rappa team

Nope, everyone knows Fugue is strong just for exo-toughness, she just doesn't feel like a well-designed character because outside of it she just... stands there for the most part. Def shred is low, ult almost doesn't do anything, eba does peanut damage with low break value. Exo-toughness is a broken mechanic and she's strong just for that, but can't say the same to the rest of her kit.

the thing is Fugue is a lot better when fighting crowds of mobs and shared hp bosses compared to single target boss (she enables some crazy shenanigans in pure fiction) I wish they at least buffed her toughness dmg though

@@theonetheycallheadspace2899 Maybe it’s because Im a comparative person but Ive rarely seen any doomposting. Similarly with Lingsha, she was judged pretty accurately from the get-go. The vast part of the fanbase that isnt into theorycrafting/teamcrafting was pretty hyperfocused on her as a Firefly premium support(ironically that both Lingsha and Fugue ended up not being useful for Firefly in he first place) but the side that did focus on analysis like this pinpointed her pretty accurately. There wasnt a “Black Swan is only 10% better than Sampo” rhetoric or “Pela and Guinaifen is better than Jiaoqiu” level doomposting. People were simply disappointed that she wasn’t much beyond the passive abilities she gave which is a fair opinion to voice all things considered.

I'm excited for January as I'll be pulling on all my gachas. A bit of a dilemma as I really like both Mavuika and Citlali but may only be able to get one. if you're looking to invest into herta you should definitely consider her eidolons before her sig, they're much more impactful unless you're strictly going for the lc just bc it's pretty (I understand you for that)

@Kejhin4444 it's more comfortable for sure but the increase from e0 to e1/e2 the herta is actual insanity tbh from every calc I've seen, her having higher stacks and better single target damage bc of it too, very difficult decision though I understand you. Based on all the teams I've seen I'd say jade frequents only if you have lingsha since she's a better debt collector than therta, unless you can try using mini herta in the team and make her the debt collector instead. I'd say currently the herta's best teammates still haven't been added to the game and will come out later

There are some really interesting stuff you can pull off with it. Like with RM, Himeko's FUA is capable of breaking 20 toughness enemies which is really sweet

Yes but not in this case. Fugue needs to proc her own Eagle AA to get another turn in 150 AV to improve the chances of the run. And she's also the only one with an available out of turn attack to break the leftmost TV to ensure the whole team advances instead of having the one who breaks it not advance.

The best thing is boothills damage multiplier with super break He does not depend on others as u don’t skill often with fugue to inc break eff But that rotation was different It was a thinker tho, so basically we can’t wing it with this set up, we need to think in this one

Was waiting for the boothill clear, I always love his stuff, great video. I think fugue sits exactly where I expected her to, except that her damage amp is far more potent than I thought it would be (and no need for sig either). You’re right that she herself has incredibly boring impact through actions, it’s her passive kit’s interactions that are interesting, which unfortunately is a bit disappointing considering I want the new character to do more than exist but at least she has her niche. Finally got my true 0 cycle as fugue actually enables firefly to slam first half no problem, once again unexpected. I want to try and make rappa or maybe even himeko work on side two so we’ll see how that goes. Hope to see more from you as well. But… Herta is next and man I am stoked. I remembered I have been hoarding my refunds since day 1 (220 by now) so I’ll be fine no matter what. Cool to see you’re excited about 5.3 same here. I’ve been slowly slogging through the exploration that they give bonus rewards for to prepare as I want both mavuika and Citlali. But truly I am waiting for the captain above all else…

I was shocked at how easy the Firefly one was. It's one of the few times I bothered going all the way down to E0S0 and didn't even have to change anything with the rotation. Not even DDD either. Anyway all the best for your pulls! In both Genshin and HSR

THERE YOU ARE! I was like "Fugue is out already, where is Mister EiDeh?" LMAO. Though yeah, you are right. Fugue doesn't do much on her own, but exo-toughness is just insane. It was literally the reason that I managed to do a full 0-cycle clear back when Hoolay was in Floor 12. Firefly, Fugue, HMC and Ruan Mei really sounds great to run especially since MoC is resetting in a week. Since Firefly doesn't really benefit from the colorless breaking from Fugue's skill, she can just skill HMC and let them reduce toughness even against non-imaginary enemies. I'm honestly looking forward to your MoC runs next week! 🥳

Replaced HMC with Fugue in my e2 Firefly/RM/Himeko team for PF and it went from 26k points to being short of like 40 points from 40k, and i also got my first very MoC 12 0-cycle with FF/RM/HMC/Fugue on svarog's side. Shes pretty sweet!

It's finally here Although i didn't test her much, i also felt kinda like something was missing, i was surprised with the SPD but for the most part she's just standing there and i rarely see her acting. I thought i was missing something, but now it really feels she's supposed to be that way, some kinda of Exo-toughness enabler and colorless break to create some fun synergy. At least you can put more "bulky" relics stats, since she probably won't lose much anyway Speaking of synergy, putting her in this PF 2nd side with Herta/Himeko/RM, was funny for me

I'm guessing they made her toughness dmg low to help sell her E1, which is absurd Boothill doing 260 toughness in 2xEBA + ult that can all happen practically every rotation because of Sunday is breaking every toughness bar in the game. not that its needed ofc

I've recently been quite into playing Genshin, and as it is, I've also been trying SO HARD to find a Genshin CC that could provides an accurate information but also is fun to watch. Just like what you did with your videos. - YAP WARNING - the thing that I really like about this channel is obviously, as everyone already said, is the yapping part. You write down all of your thoughts and explains it in a really detailed way. But that, in itself, wasn't really the reason of why I found your "Yapping Session" VERY engaging. If I had to say personally, it's simply because even in that very detailed explanation section, you still manage to put in some small jokes and your personal comments about things. Because of this, it feels as if there was a some sort of connection between you and the audience (me). When watching your videos it gives me the feeling like I was having a discussion with someone else rather than just me reading an entire book by myself. It's an amazing feeling. All that may sounds like an entire exaggeration, but I couldn't be more honest, that's literally my truest thoughts about this channel. I love your videos so much and if you're also planning to expand on the contents to more than just HSR, I'd be delighted.

I don't really have any intention of doing Genshin content as this is just a thing I do on the side. My attitude towards Genshin is also a lot more chill and I feel like the KZbin environment is also more saturated. There are many creators out there, maybe you've just yet to come across one you like.

So, I don't get the comment around the part that she doesn't do much on her turn. I have seen similar comment for Ruan Mei (not here, I should clarify) that she barely does anything on her turn. I mean, it would be awesome if they do even more in addition to all the things they do passively. But Robin literally does not get her turn during ult. And HMC's turn only contributes to anything against imaginary-weak enemy. edit: should say that this is not criticism for this video. I just wanted to express my sentiment.

Well this really only is a negative in a break team, like the example is the video at the end with Hoolay. Some enemies need high toughness damage. This isn't really a mechanical issue for crit DPSs, so Robin gets a pass.

It's not so much that she does nothing on her turn and more how that relates to her low toughness contribution to the fight. Ruan Mei contributes and HMC contributes to IMG weak enemies. HMC not contributing to non-IMG weak enemies is a point of complaint for me, and it's basically the same complaint for Fugue as well. Additionally, Fugue having an offensive ult with low frequency means that she can't even use the supportive 4PC relic sets. All of this is the tradeoff for how strong exo toughness access is.

Yes, that's how the power is distributed in a kit. The devs deemed that having her do more toughness is too much. But I feel that people often view characters negatively when everything they do is in the passive. They could just have had her ult easier and enable exo toughness with that, and the complaints about her ult doing nothing would literally never happen. But somehow just existing to enable the best benefit is viewed negatively.

This isn’t a complaint about her powerscaling, because obviously she’s great to dmg amp break characters, but about game design. It’s funny you bring up Robin in your original comment, because despite “just standing there”, her kit is a lot more well designed and engaging to use. While you do lose control of her when you activate her ult, it’s the kind of power balance that’s engaging because her ult AA the entire team, creates a field that buffs the entire team, and she contributes dmg whenever an ally attacks an enemy. It works pretty similarly to the dancer and bard class in Final Fantasy Tactics for example. Meanwhile, Fugue’s ult allows her to do toughness dmg regardless of weakness type, but it’s in service to an ult that doesn’t do a ton of toughness dmg, so it’s not as potent as I could be while be a high cost ult. They don’t even have to to move the exo-toughness utility to her ult, just have it do much more toughness dmg to actually have the unique aspect of her ult actually matter and it’ll be good. Listen, Fugue is indeed a fantastic support for break dps already, but can we not discourage critiquing bad game design when it’s actually there.

After testing her out a bit with Argenti, Himeko and Herta(because I dont own like any of the break dpses, pls Hoyo gives me more stellar jades so I can pull for them), I found her similarly uninteresting as a individual character. The only necessary interest she has if her skill point consumption and her toughness break in regards to enemies in Pure Fiction. Otherwise, in MoC, she feels more like a external tool than a character you play with. I really wish her ult was more useful and contributed more things but thats an issue I feel with the game design rather than anything inherent.

shes not mandatory for boothill since he has his own break multipliers and hes not tied to superbreak. she just makes it easier for him to get pocket trickshots earlier in the fights.

Great video as always! I have a question regarding some pulling opinions if you could give your insight! Im sitting right now on 13 pulls 73 pity on a 50/50 thinking whether i should be going for fugue or just skip for the time being and save up for the summon meta? For the record, i invested into e1s1 sunday, i dont have boothill/rappa nor do i intend to pull for them in the future, with firefly being my only break dps e0s0, is it worth going for fugue or am i better off skipping for aglaea and her lightcone or perhaps future summon units( i always get the express pass and battlepass so im a light spender)

if you don't intend on pulling boothill and rappa or you don't play/own himeko nor lingsha you can hold off fugue for the time being, bc by the time a carry comes out that wants what she offers and you end up liking them the chances are she'd already have a rerun by then. This goes especially for if you want to invest into summon meta and you already have sunday and robin you'll find better use of your pulls in 3.0. I'm in a different situation bc I do have boothill and play him very often, same for himeko so I'm trying really hard to hold onto my guaranteed until 3.0 but fugue looks so good for my account rn 😭

In this setup, there will be down time no matter what with RM's ult. So it doesn't matter too much if she outspeeds Boothill here or not. Second reason is I can't get her very fast in this setup because I want her to hold 4 PC watchmaker.

@@ac5571 Watchmaker is for the BE buff for Boothill. But I'd imagine E1 Fugue with her additional 50% break efficiency matters more so dropping watchmaker is fine.

i wanna ask, is this strats still possible on svarog without fugue s1/e1? my setup is: e0s3 resolution fugue 179 spd e0s1 boothill 163 spd (4p cavalry 2p forge) e0s1 sunday 174 spd e0s5ddd ruan mei 148 spd although i manage to get 6 bh turn per cycle just like this, but i couldnt seem to clear faster than 1 cycle, svarog always ends up with 25%-40% hp left before the 0 cycle ends

It's a bit hard to tell. Fugue's S1 shouldn't be that big of a difference. Svarog at 25-40% HP off is a bit too big of a gap to be just a piece of equipment difference.

In terms of gameplay impact, I'd say her LC is not the greatest. Her E1 is pretty impactful I think you should just save for a different char

Fugue have been amazing for my Himeko as well, enable many incredible runs that I could never did before like 2 cycles first half MoC 12 or 3 cycles first half MoC 11. Yeah,.. but the content is way more out of reach for mine Himeko to 0 cycle anything. Even in MoC 12 second half. The best thing I could do is 1 cycles with a lot of left over dmg. I could see a potential of 0 cycle with Fugue E1 but that is just theory

@EiDehGaming Fugue ignore weakness enable my Himeko to comfortly clear PF without weakness. Or reduce 4-5 cycles when facing MoC without weakness. Didnt really have anything else to test a on weakness fight outside of 12-2 but It still a 1 cycle reduce
