This is a real world comparison of Fujis Instax Mini Neo 90 (analog) Vs Instax Mini Evo (digital hybrid) cameras in terms of usability and picture quality.

Very helpful. This is exactly why I was disappointed in the Square hybrids. The shots were no were near as good as the ones I shot with the standard instax mini or square cameras. And The Evo looks like a fun and great camera with the blutooth connection to make it a printer is fantastic... but if the prints are blown out or inconsistent or just overall suck, well I just won't use it. Thank you this saved me $200 for an evo. Will just have to wait for the next one.

I owned a Mini 90, and it was nice, but you're correct in saying that you can waste alot of film. I like the Evo, because you can refine the shots you want (pretty much) then print later, MUCH less film wastage. All in all, they're fun cameras, so I don't get too precious about the end results!

This is a great video. I've had many Instax cameras over the years and the Neo 90 is definitely the best analog camera they produce. I've had the SQ6 as you mentioned and it was a nice camera but it won't even stand up with the lens out without a tripod due to the balance whereas the Neo 90 will. I have the Instax Link Wide printer to print my holiday photos off as I love instant film, and I've just bought yet another Neo 90 as analog photography is so fun. You are more mindful of what you're photographing with true analog. Also, the Evo seems to be a little too toy-like in build quality compared to the Neo 90.

On the 90, if there is enough bright light in the scene (indoors or out), the flash will not fire unless forced on. The default setting (no icon) is an “auto flash based on circumstances. Your approach is correct, however: just turn the flash off when outside. Interestingly, there is a somewhat silly way to determine if the camera thinks flash is needed: turn the flash off and if the flash-off icon blinks, then the camera is warning you of insufficient light. You can then decide to keep it off or turn it on, or choose the auto setting (no icon). If, however, you turn the flash off and the flash-off icon does not blink, then you know the camera thinks there’s sufficient light.

Good video. Nice delivery, easy to understand, no blaring background noise or strange staccato delivery which I keep hearing elsewhere. Good examples shown . Based on these I would buy the 90 not the Evo . It would have been very helpful if you could have told us do the settings remain when you switch the camera off, or do you have to go through all the rigmarole every time you switch the camera on? Someone else asked this but there is no answer. Maybe I can find the specs somewhere. Very nice sound and vision, I like your style as an old guy used to say to me years ago. Does mini 90 remembers the mode after you turn off and on camera or you have always desable the flash and scroll through the menu for your favorit mode when you turn on the camera?

of course they look different. ones digital so it has that digital look.

Is the Evo basically a digital camera that prints ? I’m trying to avoid digital as I don’t think it’s very good quality compared to analogue.
