I watch a lot of "cinematic" videos that are showcasing the cameras that I'm interested in. Majority of them look sharp but they all have same generic style: over-saturated colors, same style of shots (little bit of drone footage, slow mo footage behind a walking person etc.) and crappy "modern", "feel good" generic music that doesn't fit the video. You are so much better than those people with much more expensive cameras. This video looks like a video from somebody that had his/her own vision and style. I think that's one of the best compliments you can get as a content maker.

Dude! That truly is the best compliment...thank you!

Brilliant, reminds me of the mood in the original Bladerunner. Sombre and subtle undertones of the irreverent beauty of a metropolis's denizens' unwitting purposelessness.

I came here after having watched "Safelight" (which I've already watched 5 times probably, and counting). Needless to say, I am absolutely blown away by the cinematography. The mood, the nostalgia. Excellent, complementary choice of music. I agree with other people that this really stands out from the regular "mass" videos that YT is so oversaturated with. Your work actually inspired me to do something of my own with film. After years of sticking to the camera as purely photo-taking device, I am learning using it for film making. Hoping to create a short with the quality of your work, someday. I am using your videos as an inspiration and a learning tool, so I have one technical question. In some scenes (like 0:37, 1:19 or the closing scene at 2:26) there is this slow pan-out shot, which I absolutely love in movies. But I've always thought you'd need a slider to achieve that. So I wonder, was this achieved with lens' zoom, gimbal movement, or in post production?
@sapienstudio4 жыл бұрын
Hey appreciate your kind words friend! These cameras are all sufficient tools for making an interesting visual piece. The camera should never be a limitation. To your question, indeed it is a gimbal to get those pan in shots. Good luck!
@tomaszborczyk64824 жыл бұрын
@@sapienstudio I also believe the only limitation is the creator's mind, imagination, and obstacles he/she himself created. It really gives a feeling of freedom after having realized that. Really looking forward to diving into this art! Thanks for your time

Hahaha Hellion Films, that's exactly why I'm here too. I have a Canon Rebel, and after getting a taste for what a nice cinema cam can do (my Pocket 4K), I am left wanting a half-decent stills camera as well. But as a film/video person, I should probably choose something 4K capable as well in case I need a B-camera. This video might have sold me on the X T-20.
