I use a leica Q. The superior OIS on the fixed Summilux 1,7 28mm illiminates the need. leica could easily have included IBIS. They didn't.

I had the X100T. Sold that and got a Q. That Q got hit by a truck. It still worked but I sold it. I got the X100V but it just paled in comparison to the things that mattered most to me at the end of the day: image quality. I ended up picking up another used Q in pristine shape. Plus, it's a silver model. I don't think I could ever let it go. BUT. Fujifilm keeps calling me back. I'm interested in the X100VI given it's IBIS and sensor updates. The one thing I wish the Q had is the film recipes. I can change things in camera but it's not as easy as turning a dial like on the Fuji

I feel you on this. I own the Q the x100v and the a7iii as my cameras. The Q is with me at all times even at work as my secondary just for the facts that you never know who you’re going to be with and a great shot to me with the Q is worth it. The x100v i take it out for travel and little hikes, love the small size on it and the light weight, nothing bad with it i’m just a huge Leica fan 😅. The Sony is my main camera as it does it all for my content and simply the night life shots with it comes in handy with music festivals etc.
@DominicPhillip2 жыл бұрын
Whoa we have the exact same setup! I think I"m about to upgrade to the A74 though. I'm really sad to sell the 3, it's been my most used camera I've ever had.
@MattLeeMorgan2 жыл бұрын
I’ve had Q, Q2, and x100v about 3 times each. There is no perfect camera. Q has a smoother image and less file size, Q2 has incredible resolution but massive files, x100v feels cheap but is cheaper. X100v is much easier to carry, Q and Q2 are built like tanks and feel amazing. I prefer 35mm for shooting people, Q is amazing for street and landscape. Really just depends on the type of photography you like, camera size and your wallet. Q2 needs usbc charging and compression or less resolution options. X100 needs to dump optical viewfinder the noises it makes Turing it on and off will drive you crazy. Good luck with your decisions!

Leica Q for me as well. For the pure photography experience. And with the actual X100V price increase it's even more relevant. And my go to camera is a Lumix S5 with the whole bunch of appropriate lenses.

great info mate. I'm with the X100f (jut given it to my old dad) and the Xpro2. Wanted to upgrade to the V, but hard to get hold of none in NZ at all, so maybe a good time to scratch my leica itch. Hi. I still think about this Leica Q. I have a manual two Leicas M10 and M6 with 35mm and 50mm summicrons, and with AF x100V, but I think - to sell Fuji and buy Q. Full frame and quality of summarit 28 seems to be a better option. Don't you think?

I bought the QP two years ago. I don't think I have picked up my Fuji x-3 since then. Not that I am against Fuji; I liked the camera, but the Leica image quality is something else...soft. luminescent and "alive", compared to the Fuji somewhat hard-edged images. If that makes sense.
@DominicPhillip2 жыл бұрын
Makes total sense, but that's because I've shot a Q and a x-3 and get what you're saying. Both great cameras, just different tastes for different people. In some cases I like shooting a crop sensor body, in which case I love the fuji. Mostly though I LOVE shooting full frame. I need to give medium format a whirl. Cheers
