My X100VI arrived on Wednesday to replace my X100V. The increased resolution and IBIS have already made a noticeable difference in image quality and ease of shooting. The subject detection is great so far, although I've only tried it out on passing cars and my cats. One thing I've noticed is that the autofocus is much improved, but the lens motor imposes a hard limit on its effectiveness. However, it's more than good enough for my purposes. Excellent images, by the way - thanks for sharing them with us.

You lucky Aidan :) I am still waiting for mine. I didn't not use the subject detection and frankly I will probably never use it, for the kind of photography I am used to do. On the camera I used the lens was making a strange noise sometimes, less loud than the 18mm f2 but still a bit noisy. Thank you for watching and enjoy your new camera :)

@gevers1 no, they said nothing at all. That’s a very touristic spot in Brussels and normally people take pictures ok the gallery behind. If a nice scene presents take as many shots as you can and sometimes standing in a place is a very good strategy:)

Nice one again Octavian. Never owned a Fuji as committed to Sony when they went mirrorless but I love the Fuji colours more from what I have seen. The dull weather seems to make the colour subdued but still very nice. Loved the last red umbrella shot. Thanks for sharing, regards.

Thanks for the vid! I like your style and eye for photos. I bought a x100v last week for a nice price instead of going for x100vi. Ibis is not needed and a nice to have. I was in doubt of 40mp - i think 26mp is enough for me and 40mp makes the files way larger. How do you mostly focus with street phitography, with single point af-s with recompose mostly?

I love my 100v and feel no need to upgrade. Sure if it ever dies I will go for whatever model is current at that time, but for now it's still my grab and go camera that is always with me and inspires me to go shoot. Image quality is plenty good for my needs. If someone wanted to trade their VI for my V I'd likely say yes but till then I'm good.

Great shots! Did you order black or silver? I had silver x100v but with x100vi I went with black and I really love it with square hood looks really slick. I have to admit I’d like one but I’m very happy to stick with the X100V for now. Image quality and the autofocus on my camera good enough and I’d say I actually prefer the images out of my X100V than my X-T5 surprisingly. I suspect it’s hard to fine the X100VI in cameras stores anyway; much like the Q3 which I had tried to get (gave up waiting on stock of the Q3 and bought a MacBook then a few weeks later got offered one!) but I would like the ibis and 40mp sensor for cropping ability.

I took my x100vi out a couple days so far. Yesterday was the first sunny day and I was getting overheating warnings just taking photos (I don’t do any video). I have the same problem with my griiix.

Greetings from Brooklyn, NYC. Really enjoying your POV street photography videos, and love your photos - very inspiring. Thanks for sharing. I shoot with the GR3 and am considering the X100VI (if it becomes available again) because a) it has a viewfinder; and b) I think the 35mm equivalent field of view may suit me better than the Ricoh's 28mm equivalent lens. But I notice that for most of the photos you take with the X100VI you are NOT using the VF, but rather the back screen, a la the GR3. Why is that? Wondering what if you think of the X100VI viewfinder and whether you think it's suitable for your style of street photography? As you know, the GR3 is small, lightweight, discrete, and super-fast in use for "snap shooting". But I sometimes miss composing in the finder, as I did years ago w/ a Lecia MP. At any rate, curious to know your thoughts, but most of all, really grateful for you sharing your great photographic work.

Great intro! Love il! I had the x100v, which I eventually sold. For me, the analog feel that we had with X100, X100s, even X100F is not there anymore. Honestly, I think it’s an overrated camera. For B&W and even colour rendering, I prefer the Ricoh GR. Wish they will release a GR4 soon and why not a monochrome version. It would be so great.

Yes IBIS was the one thing I missed in X100v because I do a lot of everything / night shooting. 40mpx sensor is jus a bonus but great one ;) I was lucky and picked black x100vi from small reseller who only had 4 pcs ;) and no pre-orders.

I wanted to love the x100v when I got it but unfortunately I could never vibe with the image out of the Fuji's. They always looked strange to me except my xpro1. I tried the Leica Q2 and loved the image!

Quality POV post, Octavian. I understand the delivery wait time is several months. My guess is that some speculators are buying them with hopes of reselling at a high profit. IBIS a plus. Battery, not so much. The irony, IMO, is that not long ago Fuji announced some new lenses that supposedly had higher resolution to match the XT-5 sensor; then they released this cam w/updated sensor but older lens. I wonder if we can really tell the difference. Did this camera falsely report focus acquired? Looks like pic 25 was a mis focus. Audio could have been louder in this one - had to up the volume on my viewer. Favs are 3 (bling), 16 (proximity), and 20 (umbrella for depth). Got a chase in this one, too (32), but not a mattress this time😊. No food on this trip. (Make up for it next time.) Quiet opener set the mood well - 7:40 PM and nobody around? Cheers!
