I pre-ordered my X100VI on 28th February 2024 and after quite a wait, I collected it on 31st August. Well worth the wait. I have been out and about all over my home city of London getting used to using it. So far I love it. I agree that it fits into a very special niche, and is not for everyone, but it would never do if we all liked the same things, would it. And think of the even longer waiting times! But, I don't know what one of your viewers would think of me, although I think I can guess, as they feel the camera is a waste of money but I have added it to my kit and now own the following: a pre-ordered X-Pro2, X-T2, X-T3, X-T4, X-T5, X-H2 and two Nikon Zfs. I think I have a slight case of GAS. Nice video by the way.

Btw, I cannot recommend the NISI filters (specifically for X100 series) enough. They are super compact and allow for use with the original Fujifilm Leather Case for the X100V/X100VI. Provides protection (WR I think) and keeps it as compact as possible :-) They may not look as cool as the "squarehood" options, but they just keep the small form factor, which for me is super important.
@alex-botton7 ай бұрын
Awesome that’s great to know, thanks for the heads up! Yeah flo @oftwolands swears by nisi too but I haven’t used them for the x100 series. I’ll give them a try!
@james-p29 күн бұрын
Agreed! They don't ruin the small size the way that the separate adapter and filter, and the lens hoods, do. And you can still put the original lens cap on, if you feel the need to.

I love the camera but something bothers me to no end. The viewfinder switch and the button feel very cheap. I use them often and I can't stand how after turning it left the switch becomes slightly stuck, so as soon you move it right you might get a plasticky click. At least a handful of people I know noticed it from at least one sample. Even the one the store owner I bought it from tried in Japan had the same issue.
@alex-botton7 ай бұрын

@alex-botton7 ай бұрын
Yeah it’s a tough call.. I will say between the two there is no wrong camera though!😊😉
@rhn47107 ай бұрын
construction quality seems more solid on my V compared to my VI. Especially as far as the viewfinder switch and the button are concerned, I get plasticky clicks after turning it left, and the button feels loose. I use the button to focus (instead of the release half press) and the difference in build quality is very noticeable. On top of that the switch itself is smaller and less easy to use, while the V one is much more pronounced and usable. I also bought it because of the IBIS but man, does it feel bad to handle something that feels cheaper...
@alex-botton7 ай бұрын
That's a shame, i haven't been using the back button focus on the V yet but ill switch to it on the VI. There definitely are a couple of things that feel a little more finicky on the VI but the main thing i notice is the IS wobble internally.

@@alex-botton would you recommend the 1/8 black pro mist? I’m debating between the 1/8 and 1/4. Also heard the Glimmerglass might be worth a try, have you tried it?
@alex-botton7 ай бұрын
@@ksoohw yes I would definitely recommend 1/8. It’s subtle enough to do good things but not be the whole make up of your image. I find anything more is too much, for an effect that is very much ‘baked in’ and difficult to remove in post. I’ve heard good things about the moment cine bloom 10% but haven’t personally tried it. Glimmer glass is a pretty specialized filter. It wouldn’t live on my lens that’s for sure.
