Fuji settings is meant for personal customization. It took me 3 straight days to figure out the settings. Once you set it right everything will make sense.

You forgot to mention that there's no crop when shooting 4k 30fps compared to the a6400, and that makes it a better option to shoot landscapes and other wide angle footage.

One thing I would like to mention. I have hade Canon dslr's a Nikon D750, and a Sony RX100, but by far the easiest menu system is my Fuji x100F Every person is different and their brain just figures things out differently. For me the Fuji menu system just flows best for me. And I think the menu system of a camera and the location of the buttons and switches etc, need to be a factor before buying. Each manufacturer is different and the learning curve can be great for a new shooter if they get the camera that does not "speak to them" regarding the menu system. If at all possible I highly recommend borrowing or renting a camera you are interested in before purchase. It really can make your learning much easier and faster. For me it was Fuji it just made sense when I was making adjustments. I do not want anyone to think Fuji is hard to learn or understand for me it was the easiest to learn. Everyone is different test the Fuji and see if you like and understand its functions and menu system.

I bought mine the day they came out, and I absolutely love it. The only issue which has me reaching for my X-T2 on the street is the mechanical shutter maximum of 1/4000. Other than that, it's the best street camera that I've ever used.

I really love the quality of the videos and photos from the Xt30.. you don’t need to do a lot post processing.. the material coming out of this camera is simply incredible! The only thing that bothers me a bit is that the 1.4 lenses are a bit slow.. but all in all Fuji made a superb job!

Another outstanding video. I've always loved Fugi cameras and have one. I would love to try this one out. The downside, i recently suffered my second stroke and fear my channel/video recording will suffer from that for a while, till I get back some feeling in my right side. The xt30 always tempts me to look at the xt3 for some reason. Since I'm not typically in front of the camera, the xt30 could probably do what I need....if I were looking for a new camera that is.

I LOVE my XT3...until I have to AF for video. That's the deal breaker for me. I gave the Fuji many chances (including my latest KZbin video...where I end up utterly frustrated with the XT3 AF) but ultimately I am solely using the A7III and A6400 for all of my videos. I'll sacrifice that 10 bit for 8 bit & great AF any day. With the KZbin compression, 8 bit is just as good anyway. I'm keeping the XT3 for stills though. It's a beast of a stills camera. Sophisticated Neanderthal I mean if all you buy cameras for is for KZbin I guess 10 bit doesn’t matter. But it is garbage. I’ve been shooting video for 15 years and I’ll take a quality image over gimmicky AF any day. Anytime you shoot in auto you’re telling the camera to make decisions for you. NOPE! No thank you. I mean unless you turn the dial to Auto and shoot video. Then I guess you get what you put into it. 🤷🏻‍♂️

LeftHandMedia Makes sense. I do product reviews quite a bit so I need good AF as a solo content creator. I don’t shoot in Auto mode, but I rely on AF so much. KZbin is my only platform so 8 bit is “good enough.” I also have a 1DX, but HATE the file sizes for it’s video.

Don't have the xt30 but love my xt3. If I didn't also have the xh1 I would grab this for sure. Seems like a great little camera. Fuji is great with firmware updates so they may fix some of the issues you mentioned. Cheers.

It's odd that the XT-30 has a 15 minute recording time limit in 2019. Both older Canon and Nikon camera's have less film specs and have a 30 minute recording time limit. Fuji must do something about this.

I started with the M50 and I switched to the X-t2 and chose that over the X-T30. For roughly the same money you get a professional body and the specs are pretty close otherwise. I would love an x-t30 vs x-t2 in 2019 video to see if you agree with my choice :)

I like the quality of Fuji but the autofocus of the a6400 seems better... and no time limit... tell me that the problems of the xt30 are past....😁 and what about xt2? Xt3 and xt30 has the most amazing dynamic range, the clearest 1080/120 fps, beautiful retro body etc. . I thought about it but when I calculate the price of lens... I think I have to go to Sony or Canon way :D.

That autofocus issue is pretty much a deal-breaker for me right now.. but unlike the rolling shutter awfulness on the A6400, this should be fixable in a firmware update. In fact, I just read that the X-T3 gets an update in Jan 2020 to improve autofocus! It'll be interesting to see how this goes on the X-T30 & whether The Everyday Dad can revisit this for a quick update :)

The image is good. No flip screen so I would need an external. I think the XT-3 is weather sealed and has the proper audio jack and for other reason might be worth the extra cash. Both are really good with rolling shutter maybe the best at reducing it. I think Sony made the sensor (not 100% sure). So it's my hope they put that and their auto focus in their next gen of APSC for Sony. Toss in the flip up screen from the A6400 and who knows.

Panasonic has pretty bad autofocus compared to other new cameras out there. I would recommend the gh5 for video it's a beast for video if you don't mind the autofocus. It has 4K60, 5axis IBIS, great colors and you can buy a log profile if you need it. Otherwise, go with the Fujifilm even though I would recommend the X-T3 if you have enough money. The X-T30 is one of the best cameras you can buy for under 1000€ so you won't regret buying it. I would recommend that you also have a look at the Sony a6400 and a6500. Those two cameras are also incredible (especially with the new Sigma lenses) and they offer great recording features as well.

Most of the shortcomings of the X-T30 can be resolved with the X-T2, it's now priced cheaper than the X-T30. The X-T2 with their premium XF18-55mm kit lens can be had for £950 GBP brand new!!

fuji system.. u will not regret..best apsc system i use so far, with affordable lens lineup that is already good,high quality results they can produce. for sony u better go for their fullframe lineup eg: A7iii ;)

The image stabilisation is meh really, it looked impressive a year ago but as soon and go pro released the hero 7 Black and dji the osmo action, they raised they bar and lens stabilisation looks pants now. Same on my Canon.

I have the Fuji XH1 and just used it yesterday at the spur of the moment to shoot a walk with my dog because it happened to be in my hand. The footage was GARBAGE compared to what my GoPro 7 does! I will keep using the XH1 for tripod and monopod mounted footage but not for walk and talk, that's for sure!

I own an Osmo action and yes, rocksteady stabilization is so much better (and less expensive)
