thanks so much for checking out this rig build for my fuji xt5. while every job is different and often requires a unique build, I hope this video would serve as inspiration for a starting point if you are looking to incorporate a v mount battery with the flip screen. holler with any questions down below and ill hit you back ✌ a couple updates since this video: I have swapped the USB C power for a DTAP Dummy Battery as I now use the USB C port to monitor audio with the included headphone adapter.

Hey Blase, im seeing this video a little later and now the link for the Battery Quick Release Plate Adapter (on the top) isn't available for purchase, are there any other options for where to buy?

@@JUDEANTONIOUFILM This should be the same one and you can just remove the rod adapter via the screws on the bottom: amzn.to/4dHfQJf

that's a clever way to mount the v-mount and have the screen still accessible/viewable 👍 I think I might be able to do something similar with my setup (unfortunately the S5ii doesn't flip up like this screen though :/, gonna have. to see what I can do though), I enjoy tinkering with my camera rig so it's cool to see these and pick up ideas from them 👏

thanks dude. yeah so many different ways to build a rig. glad to hear it was helpful!

usually there's battery adapters that allow you to run a power cable directly through the battery pack using a battery shaped adapter thing. The xt50 has a little flap on the battery door that looks just big enough for that to work, the M50 also does this, I used the adapter regularly

Pretty cool, I'm in the middle of building a video rig based on my X-T3, can't afford the X-H2S yet.

Hey man, first of all thanks for the video. you explain It very well, very calmly and with honesty. I was wondering how you'd fit the base of this rig on a tripod?
@blasepivovar3 ай бұрын
thanks so much. the base features an arca swiss plate. I then have arca swiss receivers on my tripods

Do you have any on-camera microphone recommendations for this rig ? I will be trying to replicate this on my X-T5 starting with the essentials, maybe I'll change a few things

bonjour, je lis que vous recommandez le X-T3 pour débuter, mais l'absence de stabilisation interne n'est-elle pas problématique ? aussi, il est difficilement trouvable aujourd'hui et à des prix similaires au X-T5 neuf...
@blasepivovar2 ай бұрын
Prices are enough apart where I would still recommend a used XT3 for beginners. A lens like the Tamron 17-70 has stabilization and is a great budget zoom. Depends on the work you shoot, but I didn't need IBIS for the first several years of doing professional work. XS20 might also be an intriguing option for several folks. XT5 really just fits my needs as a B cam.
@yb-18812 ай бұрын

would this set up work with an XT4
@blasepivovarАй бұрын
with the flip screen of the XT4, I would go for a rig build more similar to the XH2S, also here on the channel. Both this rig and that one do share a bunch of parts tho :)

Hi Blase, I have an X-S20 that I upgraded from an X-T2. I really enjoyed the fact that the grip in the X-T2 allowed for an AC adapter to power the camera. Does the V mount battery work the same way? I have been trying to find a solution for the X-S20 so that I don't have to swap batteries.
@blasepivovar9 ай бұрын
V mounts will simply extend your battery life but don't have an AC input option in the same way that your grip would. If I am wanting to use power from a wall (say for a long day of interviews), I use one of these and a USB C cable: amzn.to/3U0yowM

Many of the newer charger adapter that are use to charge the power bank, such as those from Anker, can actually power the camera via USB C. For example, I bought an Anker 26800mAh powerbank, and the 60W charger that it came with, can power my X-T3, via AC.
