Nothing wrong with identifying what your needs/preferences are in cameras, and other aspects of life. Good that you found a tool that addresses them! I often think of writers. Some authors prefer to write long hand, others need to pound out their work on typewriters, others dictate on tape, or make use of word processors on computers. Their choice of tools is extremely important - to them. They find some tool and process that allows the words to flow in a way that works for them. The writer is often committed to their way of working. As for those who read their work, the readers are typically completely clueless as to the writer’s chosen process. It’s immaterial to the reader. They just want the words to entertain, or educate, or explain, or enlighten, or transport them to a different reality, or… Same with photographers. Keep up the great channel!

Being a film shooter, I’ve never had problems holding flat-bodied cameras, even with a 80-200/2.8 AF-D Nikkor attached. Guess I’m used to it. I actually got a 50 SII but after a year with it, it was simply too easy to shoot. I missed being in charge and I hate thumbwheels and LCDs, so I picked up the older 50R and am much happier. Sure do miss that Nostalgic Neg sim though!

Yeah I bounce between both. I use film to document family life almost exclusively, but I use digital for some of my bigger print work. It’s nice to change it up every once in a while

@@onapersonalnote7045 Nope, not true. Mine has the latest update and NostNeg isn't enabled on my 50R nor is it listed in any of the Update notes on Fujifilm's Web site. They had said a while back that only newer processors could handle the processing burden of Nostalgic Neg.

How do you compare a 50mp medium format camera digital to a 35mm film camera. Film has to enlarged to make a print.that is why most large magazines ( i mean in physical size) used medium format cameras enlarged print were sharper because the negative didn't enlarged as much as a 35mm film. Now in the age of digital how many megapixels determines what size you can print not sensor size

What ever works for you is the perfect camera for you. The Leica SL3 looks pretty good but I'm not sure if it does in camera DE. Once you talk body & lenses, prices probably aren't that far off but you are saving money with the Fuji system & moved up to the larger medium format/light sensor. Me, I would own one of everything if my pockets were deeper. Happy shooting & I'll try to look at one of your DE vids.

Amen! It’s all about what you’re looking for. I’m using my Mamiya 645 lenses on it for now, so overall the price for this setup is pretty reasonable. I got the Fuji body refurbished

If I could use my Leica M-mount lenses on the big Fuji camera with the long name, it woukd be better for me.

I’d imagine you could with an adapter. You’d have some vignetting but you’d have enough resolution to crop it out

@@doublenegative4real How much control would I have over the in-camera aspect ratio and the in-camera cropping of the image? If I could use my Leica, Nikon, and Pentax full-frame lenses to capture square and rectangular images with a 43mm diagonal angle-of-view, I would be very happy.

I used the Summilux 50 1.4 on the GFX50S II with 4:3 format without cropping. It was sharper than on my Leica M10. But I don't like the GFX M adapter also the lenses are very expensive. The most full frame lenses around 50mm work good with the GFX Sensor. I actually use the cheap Pentax PK 50 1.7. Minolta lenses are also very good.
@nelsonclub77225 ай бұрын
There is virtually no vignetting with the Leica adaptors for the Fuji when used in 35mm mode - its what it is for - if you use it in full sensor mode there is a bit on some lenses but not much and it can be dealt with in LR with one click!!

@@phil_aesthetics that’s cool, I know next to nothing about Canon lenses. Right now I’m just using my Mamiya 645 lenses on it. Then I have some Nikon lenses, but that’s pretty much it. Do the EF lenses cover the whole sensor?
@phil_aesthetics5 ай бұрын
@@doublenegative4real Yes the EF lenses I have are for full frame sensors. I just like it because the Canon R does not have a wheel at the back just the touch bar which is finicky and easy to touch by just holding it in your hands so having that extra control ring is really nice.

Better than Leica because of... flip screen and double Exposure ? lol, by the way your GFX50s II 51Mpix is unlikely better than your old D850 46Mpix with 1.4 lenses. Better look at the 100S, this is the real gem in the GFX linup.
