summary for everyone: 1. position circle ('focus' in viewfinder) to the upper right side so that the result produced is more centered. 2. good/natural lighting. 3. go closer than you think. 4. opening back flap resets counter to 10. 5. don't shake the film, develop in darker place. 6. keep fingers out of viewfinder/flash/light sensors and the frame. 7. store film in space where it won't be exposed to a lot of light.

To those reading this, if you really need to open the back of the camera, and you DON’T want to ruin the film, go somewhere really dark, where there is literally no light, and put your camera under a blanket when you open it for extra measure. This comes in handy if you need to transfer a film pack to another camera and ensures the film won’t go bad. (I did this just to transfer 9 films from my instax mini 25, which was in need of repair, to my new instax mini 11. No films were harmed.)

So I just tried this, if you hold your phone flashlight or any light over the little glow in the dark jewel for just like 15 seconds it makes it glow like crazy! Love it. Thanks for all the info!

I found it funny how you said the problem of not knowing if the photo is good enough before printing hahaha My first camera was not digital, so every time I had to take a picture I had to cross my fingers and hope for the best and when I was growing up we had to wait until going to get the film processed >.

Same! I was born in 92 and we didn't have a digital cameras in our household. Ever. My mom sent us to camp every summer and sent us with a bunch of those cameras. I have so many goofy ass pics from camp. But yea. I really wanted this camera to experience the nostalgia. Turns out I still take goofy ass pics 😅

Haha thank you very much😊❤️honestly I’m not so sure because I haven’t had the mini 9, but the shutter speed is faster & the 11 does offer a selfie mode which will make close up photos more clear. I’m sorry I couldn’t offer much but hopefully that helped a bit!!

I have a question as well. I was taking pictures in the sun, and when it printed and appeared on the film, it was rlly exposed and I think it was cause of the flash.. When there's sun, the flash isn't rlly needed there as it is already bright enough. What should I do there though, cause my photos became rlly bright.

That’s what I’ve noticed as well. I don’t think it’s because of the flash because it isn’t brighter compared to the sun. If you do think it’s from that you could try covering the flash. But I just wouldn’t take photos where you’re against the sun.

The diamond grip is the color of the camera you got for instance i got the lilac purple one yesterday ( im super happy 🥰). And mine is purple so it just depends on the color you get not all of them are pink

Hey! It’s common & something I’ve noticed the camera does. I’d just say try not to go in direct light. Be further away in dark settings or brighten the background if possible. If worse comes to worse then simply cover the flash a bit w/ tape or your hand & make sure to have decent lighting.

Haha it’s not a stupid question but unfortunately you can’t:( they’ll all be automatically printed when you press the button. You could try their Polaroid printer which connects to your phone and prints directly from there. It’s not a camera and you don’t have to worry about taking a bad photo or not having it saved digitally.

hi! helpp. i’m stuck between purchasing the mini 11 or the mini 9. some people say the the photos in the 11 are way overexposed and i’m also too lazy to adjust the exposure so i’m more fond of automatic exposure. which one should u guys recommend?

I don’t have any friends experience with the mini 9 but I do agree that the exposure is hard to work with if it’s too bright and there’s no way to adjust it

Well, if you are lazy, sure, go and buy 11. With mini 9, it’s cheaper now, and yes, you can adjust the exposure. Well, u don’t have to “think” what to choose since there’s a light meter that will help u to “think”. You just need to turn the dial and not forget about it. I have mini 9 and mini 40. When I stopped using the mini 9, the first shot, I usually forget to check the light meter and turn the dial. So yeah, it’s either under exposed or overexposed. 😅

I also noticed that. And I have instax mini 9 and mini 40, I am also having the same problem with my mini 40 which has the same specs as mini 11. So I tried to research and it’s a bit more “sensitive” to movement. After taking photo, just hold the position of the cam for a couple of seconds. And it’s more blurry if you a foreground, it’s like “bokeh” effect for the background. Just what I noticed. So hopefully it helps.

I mean it really depends on which colors you love. They’re all on the pastel side which is nice but I personally like the blush pink & ice white colors since I wouldn’t mind bringing a bag that color for a day. You could also choose any color & then just get a white camera case. They’re all great colors so just go with whichever one looks appealing to you! Hope that helped somehow😊

Hey! They are just standard double A batteries so yes you would have to keep buying them but I don’t think you’d have to replace them a lot. But I know that there are devices that allow you to recharge them so you have that option too:) whichever one works for you

Unfortunately no, you’ll have to take two shots. If you buy a Polaroid printer, you can print photos straight off your phone however many times!

Haha yes I had the exact same problem after I lost the first one!! Since it’s silicone I think you’d have to put a stronger glue on it like gorilla glue. Only if you plan on keeping it there. Try putting the glue on the sticker only if you can.

Yeah of course! People usually write down dates or a small little caption. Just make sure you never cut the film or anything:) thanks for asking!

Whichever way you want to take the photo:) I’ve done both & no problems. Just remember that the white caption part would be on the side rather than the bottom.

Try leaving it face down on a table to let it develop. It could be defective film or the back might’ve been opened.

Hmm...🤔if you think it could be the flash, just make sure you aren’t covering the light sensors because it’ll probably cause a really bright flash. Otherwise, it could possibly be the film you’re working with.

I was getting over exposed photos, I don't know if it was related with the film I purchased, but I solved it taking the photo and immediately cover it with my shirt(without making pressure on the film) or put it on a dark place. I noticed if I let the sun light gets on the photo as soon it gets out of the camera it will be overexposed(very white)

How long does the film are good for ?

There will be an expiration date on the box. From the ones that I’ve seen from Target & Amazon, they won’t expire for another year and half. I’m not too certain if it’s like that for all film so be sure to check it if you decide to purchase some in store. I hope that answered your question and if not, then feel free to comment back:)

Awww I’m sorry🥺 I think you’re thinking about the printer. Its about $100 and lets you print from your phone so you don’t have to take the photo on the spot. That’s probably what you’re looking for

It is only on when the lens is completely popped out. If you don’t want it on, then make sure the lens is only extended to the 2nd level which should be automatic when you turn first turn the camera on.

I don’t know if you’ve gotten it fixed yet, but your film most likely got exposed. All you probably need to do is replace the film and don’t open the back until it runs out!

I’ve noticed the camera works better in darker settings. I’m sorry about all the white photos! Try to avoid taking them against the light or in direct sunlight. Also allow them to develop in a dark place to allow all the color to develop:)
