I normally shoot to Capture One tethered via USB cable. I setup my X-H2 for wireless tethering to C1 today with no connection problems. Shot for a couple of hours and was super happy to not have to work with a cable dangling out of the side of the camera. Every file transferred seamlessly and could be checked in detail in C1 on my big monitor immediately to make adjustments to settings for the next shot as necessary. Thanks for the tips! I also learned something that might be helpful to pass along. While creating a new lighting setup I took a bunch of test shots while adjusting multiple lights and turned off C1 because there was no need to clutter my hard drive with the test shots. I simply looked at each shot on the camera's screen as I took them. After a while, when I decided to play a series of files back via the play button on the camera, the camera gave me a notice that it was waiting to transfer the files. (It also gave an option to cancel the pending transfer if I wanted.) Just to see what would happen, I launched C1 again and all the test shots that had been taken while C1 was turned off streamed into the computer. I learned that you need to remember to switch the Wi-Fi connection off in the camera's menu to work "normally" again. This also taught me that as long as the camera doesn't get turned off the files will be held for transfer until the connection to the software is restored. I also checked after the session and saw that every file I shot was recorded on the memory card in addition to being streamed to the computer so I now have some peace of mind regarding possible loss of files while tethering wirelessly.

I see comments that are mentioning file transfer speed so I'll pass along my experience from several hours of wirelessly tethering the X-H2 yesterday: With camera connected via 5 GHz Wi-Fi (router 2 rooms away) and desktop PC (Win 11, Capture One Pro 23) connected via cat 6 cable, jpg fine transferred in 1.5 seconds per file and RAF files took 3.5 seconds each to transfer. Acceptable speed for product photography, still life, macro, etc and definitely better than dragging my long USB cable around the studio and trying not to snag it or step on it.

Thanks for doing such a thorough video! After your first description of how to set this up in your CaptureOne 16.2 release video I did already get it working and ... indeed I did lose some photos when the camera lost wifi connection at some point! Oops! I also found the transfer to be very slow, despite being on 5GHz wifi. However it is really nice to see images instantly on the computer and not having to hook up a wire for it. All I need to do is start CaptureOne, set the camera to the "wireless tethering" mode, and wait for the symbol on the back of the camera to turn green. (I don't even need to check in CaptureOne if it connects the camera -- just wait for the wifi/tether symbol on the LCD to go green). Then as long as I don't shoot in burst mode and don't stray too deep into the garden, I'm mostly good to go!

@TimvanderLeeuw Жыл бұрын
@@BoultenInc I think it may not be supported in CaptureOne? I'm not sure, they do not support a lot of cameras. If the symbol continues to glow yellow then the camera is not being recognized by CaptureOne, happens to me too sometimes. CaptureOne has to be running, you have to be in the "Tether" tab, and when the symbol is yellow, check the "Camera" dropdown to see if your camera is in there. Sometimes it is there and CaptureOne does not actually select it. Once you manually select it, the symbol on the camera will go green. Expect very slow transfer though... Better to have a fast USB-C cable!

Great video, not sure I have a good use case for wireless tethering but I might try to backup my camera settings via wireless instead of usb-c cable in the future. Will give it a shot for kicks. Update: I connected my camera to my wireless network and was able to use X-acquire to backup my camera settings. You must have the Connection Setting in "Wireless Tether Shooting Fixed" and not "USB RAW CONV./BACKUP RESTORE". At the same time, I was able to take photos and it would save the RAF files into the X-acquire folder. The speed of transfer was not impressive but it worked. It took around 30 seconds per RAF file to transfer to my computer.

Dear Chris, thank you for this insightful video! This is very helpful. Thank you for inspiring us! I am new to Fuji and your channel which is a fantastic resource for me. Also I am not sure it is the right place to ask my question. When I tether from my Fuji X-T5 to Capture One on my Mac desktop via USB cable, my live view image in Capture one is of very poor quality (sort of pixelized and grainy). I tried with different cables, but without improvement. The imported images themselves are good only the live view is affected, so I have trouble focusing manually even with colour peaking. Any advice/ guidance would be much appreciated if you have time for this of course. Many thanks, please continue to motivate us 😊

For the GFX 100S I need... live view on a tablet that my client can use for styling the scene... and I need complete control of the camera with live view on the LCD at the same time. Right now... Fuji goes into lockout mode with live view sent to Capture One or to their wireless app. With Capture One the camera is completely locked out with live view open. It is a major workflow issue that I've had to sacrifice moving to the GFX line. I thought they would fix it eventually. But it's STILL like this in the new v2.0 firmware and the new Xapp released today. I feel like the only person in the world that cares about this. Fuji obviously has no plans to fix this behaviour. Dont enjoy shooting tethering with a cable, but it takes around 15 sec to transfer a jpeg and 40 sec for compressed raw, so dont see this keeping up. Only real usecase is a party at home are something as a direct link to the pc or still life maybe. Once this gets under 10 sec I might see myself use this in the field. I have an avarage network at home, new router, but 4 year old access points, stil 2.4 and 5 ghz Does also work with hotspots etc
